Hotel des Alpes Superieur in Gstaad

I stayed a few weeks ago at Hotel des Alpes by Bruno Kernen, a charming hotel set in the heart of the Alps. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, combining rustic style with modern touches. The mountain views and the peaceful atmosphere make the stay truly special.

The location is ideal for enjoying nature and disconnecting, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is both welcoming and elegant. The facilities, cleanliness, and attention to detail reflect a high standard and a clear focus on guest comfort.

However, there is something that deeply caught my attention and that I believe is important to mention: right next to the reception area, I heard a member of staff being reprimanded and humiliated by their superiors in a decidedly unprofessional manner. It was sad to witness the way they spoke to a team member, and it is a great shame that, within a hotel with so much charm and so highly valued by its guests, the internal relationships and treatment of staff do not reflect the same level of excellence.

I firmly believe that the quality of a place is not only measured by its facilities or services, but also by the respect and support given to those who make the guest experience possible. I hope this aspect improves soon and that the hotel’s excellence extends to its internal culture as well.

Were here for lunch for two. Upon arrival the staff could not find our booking but we were shown a table anyway. The food we were served must have been the worst experience of the last couple of years. We ordered two aiguelletes de boeuf with fries and vegatables but dismissed the fries. We were served a meat which had more fat than meat, on a small breakfast size plate and one half peperonni. charged at CHF 98 for the two of us. When we complained about the ridiculously small size plates we were told this was the modern style of serving.If Mr. Kernen really believes this is great gastronomy he should have a look at some other places in the area. We will definetely never return here.
