Fantastic hostel in a great complex teeming with creativity. Steps from supermarkets and train/bus station, excellent facilities, friendly staff, great wifi, and very relaxing common areas. Would definitely recommend!

A friendly guy welcomes you to the hostel and tells you something about the place. They have a really student feeling and decoration inside the place.
They also serve local beers and y I u can play card games if you want.
The rooms look nice and you have your own locker so you can store your stuff safe.
It is certainly not a hotel but it is very very practical for the price you pay!

Room was fine, me and my friend had it all to ourselves. People working there were nice and helpful. There was a cat too so that´s a plus. Old french man who was also staying in the hostel was creeping outside the room me and my friend were staying in. He also groped me and my friend the morning we were leaving. He took it upon himself to follow us downstairs and walk us out, after sitting on a chair outside our room the entire night trying to talk to us every single time we left to use to the bathroom. We left at 4 am and he was still sitting right outside our room. Since the desk closes early, we could not inform anyone of this bad behavior and our uncomfortability. Other than our experience with one of the other guests, it was a fine room with nice staff.

I stayed one night in Basel because it was my layover on my way from Paris to Zermatt. The staff were very kind, and the facilities were fine! There's even a hairdryer.
There's a room with a cat, so if you have a cat allergy, you should contact them in advance. I love animals, so it wasn't a problem for me, but they didn't explain it at check-in, and when I got to my room, there was someone with a cat. It seems that the cat owners aren't just staying temporarily, and women in particular are more likely to end up in that room, so it might be a good idea to contact them.
At check-in, I received a pass for unlimited rides on Basel trams and buses, which was really appreciated.
It's a short walk from Basel station, but the road is paved, so it's easy to walk even with a large suitcase.

Decent hostel that was cheaper than the others in Basel. i was expecting less tbh. Staff were good and let me check in early. Location is close enough to the train station and buses run nearby. Dorms were ok. there were lockers but no privacy curtains. kitchen was reasonable. not much of a common area and i didn't see anyone socialising.

The front desk staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was available for an additional charge. The room itself was very quiet and included a private locker, clean washing facilities, and a separate bathroom.

They provide free towels upon request, and it was cleaner than I expected, and not bad. However, the lack of heating made it so cold at night that I had to wear a padded jacket to sleep.
