Blue Oyster Hotel in Jambiani

I stayed here for a month in December 2025. Very beautiful hotel and gorgeous swimming pool. Literally on the beach which is stunning . The sunsets were amazing. Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely food. Very relaxing/ quiet place to be. The locals were super friendly. Lovely skipper called Captain Zappa who does regular boat trips. Very safe and secure the whole time. The hotel also has a generator for when the electricity cuts (very essential to keep the fan going in the bedrooms!). Lovely, helpful reception staff. The Christmas and New Year celebration events were very special and beautifully presented 10/10 all round.

This hotel is very special with a warm welcome from the team and then every day of your stay . Rooms are beautiful with stunning views of the ocean . Food is excellent with lots of choices . The area is full of friendly welcomes wherever you go - definitely a Jewell in the Zanzibar crown .

Wow! We had an amazing time here. Firstly, the swimming pool is stunning! So clean and a perfect size. The hotel is well maintained and all staff are so positive and friendly. We stayed for New Years Eve and everything was very well organised and we couldn't have wished for a better experience. Big thanks especially to the reception team and Mary for ensuring we had such a great stay. Also to Rajab for being such a legend! Rooms are clean and the food is absolutely delicious. Will be back next year inshallah!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and had an unforgettable experience! The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help – they even insist on carrying your luggage for you.

The hotel is right on the beach, with a beautiful pool and a relaxing, peaceful vibe. Our room was cleaned daily with great care, and the hotel even surprised us with a lovely honeymoon setup – such a thoughtful touch!

The restaurant is excellent. Tip: if you want to try the chef’s special dishes for dinner, let them know about two hours in advance – it’s worth it!

Overall, a perfect place for couples or anyone looking for a relaxing beach getaway. Highly recommended! 🌴💛

We (German family) spent a great week in the Blue Oyster Hotel:
- amazing views from the spacy rooms and balcony to the sea and nice garden with palm trees
- the pool and the relaxed atmosphere is very nice
- the breakfast and dinner was great

We discovered Hotel Blue Oyster by chance after our original Airbnb didn’t work out. Our taxi driver recommended it, and although we were initially sceptical, it turned out to be a real gem and excellent value for money. We are a family of five and found the hotel to be warm, welcoming, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, and the overall upkeep of the hotel is impressive. The pool is lovely, and the beach is beautiful – especially great for swimming at high tide. We had lunch at the hotel’s relaxed beach bar-style restaurant, and the food was excellent. The only area where there’s room for improvement is the breakfast – it was quite basic compared to the rest of the experience. That said, we enjoyed our stay so much that we returned for another two nights before our departure. We would definitely recommend Hotel Blue Oyster to families or anyone looking for a relaxed, affordable stay by the beach. They also have a 3-bedroom villa that looks ideal for larger families, though it was fully booked during our visit.
