Shangani Hotel in Zanzibar City

Very nice people, rooms are new, everything is clean

I highly recommend Shangani Hotel, the location is perfect the breakfast is delicious plus the staff are very friendly, I will recommend all of my friends to you guys. Thank you all best and expect to meet a lot of my friends who ever I met I will send them to you

The Shangani was a great base for me twice while visiting Zanzibar. The location is amazing with excellent access to local shopping and dining experiences. The hotel rooms while they are basic had great AC, excellent showers and good wifi. The Team running Shangani are excellent very accommodating always willing to help when needed. Breakfast on the rooftop is a great experience with the chefs making fresh breakfasts every morning.

Pretty average. I don't know if it's good for the price because it was booked by our safari group, but it has all that you need. The AC is excellent, there's American movie channels. The wifi was slow at times but overall fine. The shower pressure was average, didn't get too hot when I took one. We were able to check in a little early though.

While the hotel's opulence came at a premium, the breakfast experience fell disappointingly short and my wife did not mince her words about it to the staff and management, leaving much to be desired. A stark contrast to the luxurious setting and relatively good rooms, the morning offerings were surprisingly subpar, diminishing the overall satisfaction of the stay!

A lovely hotel located centrally in Sone Town within easy walking distance of all I needed. The staff are so friendly and helpful., the rooms are plain but very clean, .breakfast was good. I will come back mostly because the staff are fabulous.

The Shangani Hotel is located very near to Zanzibar port and is within the stone town, a UNESCO heritage site. It has an excellent service staff, very clean rooms and good ventilation at all floors, with cool breeze throughout the day as the hotel is perfectly located just a minute's walk from the sea and nearby beaches

Breakfast is served at their rooftop restaurant that has a wonderful view of the stone town, the Indian ocean, nearby islands, and the port

At the stone town, you can navigate through the narrow lanes and get a feel of 19th century architectures with a touch of African, Arab, Persian and Indian elements. The cool winds find their way everywhere in the town such that we never feel tiredness walking through the lanes

In the evening, you can stroll down Forodhani park nearby and have some traditional food there

If you are a fan of Freddie Mercury, don't miss his museum which is a minute walk away from the hotel

Overall, the stay is quite comfortable here
