This resort is constructed round the mangroves to preserve the habitat of the protected colobus monkey. It has a general dining room but also has a separate Indian and Italian restaurants. The spa is excellent value for money. Food is very good and plentiful and the staff can't do enough for you. There is a children's club but overall this is a very quiet resort without late night entertainment...

The hotel includes three meals and you will be given a wristband as a mark after checking in. The service staff is very friendly. It costs $35 to take a taxi from the pier to the hotel, and the journey takes 1.5 hours. The hotel's white sand beach is very beautiful.

The property was exactly as described, on the beach, clean, peaceful and with amazing staff. We were greeted by Temayani who looked after us from when we arrived ( early) to getting our room ready as soon as possible and then arranging a generous late check out. It was amazing! It was really soo beautifully decorated. Simple but pretty. Loved the little water bowl outside the room to rinse your feet. The staff were soo kind & helpful. Beach side The location is perfect, directly on the long, nice and pretty calm Jambiani beach. The hotel has a large garden with flowers and palm trees around the pool area. The employees are very kind. There was no air conditioner, but I was able to sleep because the wind was blowing through. Mosquito nets are a must. It's like sleeping in a bungalow at a campsite. The view in front of the beach is spectacular.

I had a great stay for 2 nights. The beach is breathtaking, food was great (dinner was $12) and the manager, Gray, took excellent care of me. I felt very safe walking alone but anytime ai needed a ride, Gray got me a driver. A/C, bottled water, internet, all good.

Spent 5 relaxing days at Spice Island over the Christmas holiday. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. There are a lot of lounging spaces around the pool and facing the beach. We loved staying at Spice Island hotel and resort. We noticed how the staff was very friendly from the first moment. We also really enjoyed our room and the food. No complaints at all.

Work in the hotel not reported and therefore constant noise from morning to night... On our arrival, we had a wrong room for the first night in a room for 2 for 3 with faulty air conditioning which flooded the floor of the room, soaking the suitcases. Table service very average.

Excellent breakfast and a very good all-day menu. We loved the laid-back feel to the place, with wonderful sandy walkways and a pretty garden. It was simple but elegant - and the entertainment was a fantastic extra - we enjoyed live acoustic music, a fire show on the beach and on our last night a drumming show with dancing on the sand. Absolutely perfect.

The location of the hotel is picturesque. The hotel is great for those who look for peaceful and quiet vacation. WITH 11 rooms and full service, it almost felt like a private resort. Only one free refill of a glass bottle of water in the room and they charge for 500ml bottles of water for $1 each. Really amazing hotel, it feels very luxurious but beautifully blended with nature. The fact that the hotel has 4 different pools is also great for cooling off after using the Jungle gym. The staff were all very friendly from check in to departure. I’ll definitely be back!

A lovely tranquil place, with authentic Tanzanian design bungalows. We stayed at a great bungalow with view on the pool ( which was super by the way- slightly salt water:-). Friendly staff, very kind to us ( we were transferred from the Loop because I made a wrong booking) and here at Mwenzi they were very supportive- also with booking of excursions. Stunning ive been fortunate to stay at some of the best titles in the world and the pools here are up theyre with the best. Affordable luxury. Monkeys ar breakfast shallow end of pools for kids and lot sof lovley mini cafes on the beach so pleased we chose to start our zanzibar adventure here.

Lovely pool, plenty of shade, peaceful, traditional decor, comfortable bed, delicious food and above all the sweetest staff who made us feel right at home (thanks so much Elga!) Absolutely amazing villa hotel. Staff is super friendly, rooms are large and very comfortable and well designed, the garden with the pool is luxury and you are only 20 meters away from the beach.

It is a beautiful property, with well thought out touches that made you feel like the hotel was exclusively your own. The family room had a sea view and took up the whole top balcony.
