Waikiki Zanzibar Resort in Pwani Mchangani

I lived in early October 2022. I came with a volunteer mission. Wonderful hotel, good staff, chic arrangement 2 steps from the ocean. Delicious food, squid in batter. Hotel owners are a man from Italy and his life partner from England. I liked absolutely everything! Breakfast ingredients are not much different from many hotels in Zanzibar, but the breakfast service is well presented!

For starters, you should know that this resort is now called the Mambo Ocean Resort. We stayed here for three nights and four days in October 2024. We paid a little extra and had a nicer room, in the back of the resort, which has access to its own pool and is a bit quieter than the rooms on the beach which are next to the restaurant and the resort next door. Our room was up-to-date, had everything we needed, the beds had mosquito nets, and the bathroom was good. The nearby small pool, was a very nice place to hang out. Its the beach here that is really the winner. The resort is right on the beach, and the restaurant sits next to the beach and while covered, is open sided, and you often have a lovely breeze blowing through. The food is good--very nice breakfast with the room, good fish, nice pastas, and excellent pizza made in their own clay pizza over. This is a very nice restaurant (do know that if you feel like a change--there are other restaurants nearby, including very inexpensive local fish places where the seafood comes direct from the ocean). The beach, which is BEAUTIFUL, stretches for long distances in both directions (we took two hour walks during sunrise and never reached the end of the beach). Our interactions with folks here at the resort--at reception, waiters, cleaning people--was uniformly nice. We had an excellent stay--and Pwani is probably the nicest beach that we have found on Zanzibar (I miss it already!)

Waikiki is an absolutely amazing place that I highly recommend for anyone staying in Zanzibar. The bungalows are beautiful and very well kept, less than a minute walk to a white sandy beach that has clear blue shallow water perfect for swimming. The view of the sunrise in the morning is the most stunning on the island. The staff is nothing short than spectacular in every way. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help with anything.They made sure our every need/desire was met and even helped plan my dream proposal. Nice selection for breakfast and good dinner options especially the pizza. Bartenders are personable and make great drinks. The grounds are very clean and gives you the feel that you're in a secluded island oasis. I cant say enough good things about Luca, Sarah, Leva, and the entire staff that helped to make this the best trip of my life, my fiancee and I will definitely be back soon!

For walk in sea and see nice staf inside we pay 30€ ( its to much) after walk we get info 10 € its normal price 🤪 but i recomend do it with some guys who can tell and show everything, its amazing ❤️
In hotel we get better price then booking give us (35€/for night) ⭐

Very nice hotel, everything is super clean, very safe, has a private beach, so you are safe from all the local sellers.

WOW😎 Loved the resort. We went there for the Friday Waikiki Beach Party (most of the surrounding hotels and lodges send their guests here for this festival. We went early (the event starts at 22:30), and decided to have a meal and some drinks there. They have an excellent menu for food and drinks. We loved our delicious meal of Italian meats, cheeses, olives and breads.
