Amani Boutique Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World in Paje

My friend and I went for a girls trip to Zanzibar and we stayed at Amani for a few nights. The hotel itself was beautiful, serene and directly on the Paje beachfront. The sunrises were absolutely stunning. The highlight of our stay here was the staff - they were so friendly and had an eye for detail. They knew us by name and made us feel very comfortable (being 2 females traveling alone). We had a problem with our aircon in the middle of the night and they went out of their way to assist us with it and even gave us an alternative room for the duration of our stay. We stayed in Amani for one week and really loved the hotel. If you are looking for entertainment or nightlife Amani is not the place to stay, but if you look for a place to relax and disconnect, this is the right place. The rooms are big enough and provide the necessary comfort. The room is cleaned daily and there is also a turndown service in the evening, with some sweets on the pillow. Since the hotel has only 14 rooms and is adults only, it is very calm. Always space on the private beach with sun-beds. Small pool to cool off. You can only book half board, including breakfast and dinner. It is very good food, with lots of options to choose from. The breakfast is a buffet with plenty of options, including an egg station. The dinner is a 4 course meal with a starter, a soup, main dish and dessert. With many of options to choose from. Fish, meat, pasta, vegetarian options are available. The wines are not expensive. The lunch menu offers a number of salads, pastas, burgers etc. What is important for us is to feel welcome. And this is the case: every staff member always greets you with a big smile. The service members in the restaurant , headed by Robert, are very interactive. A big plus. We had some small remarks that were solved very fast. The beach was covered with a lot of seaweed , but this is nature. At low tide, you can walk very far into the ocean. We discovered a lot of sea life in the shallow waters in front of the hotel. The slogan of the hotel says it all: arrive a a guest, leave as a friend and return as family. We feel friends and could become family 😉

Yet another amazing stay at this wonderful hotel. From the brilliant welcoming smile from Elizabeth, the Resident Manager, upon arrival, every member of staff gave us an enthusiastic greeting throughout our stay. As usual, Robert, the food and beverage manager, couldn’t do enough for us and he runs an excellent facility. Always an excellent choice of meals presented, as always (you guessed it), with a smile. There are too many people who have made our six trips to this hotel a wonderful experience to name individually but, suffice to say, the turnover is remarkably small showing what a happy establishment this is. We were really quite touched when we were described as “part of our family.” The hotel remains a remarkable place always spotlessly clean with wonderful rooms and public areas. On this occasion we were also welcomed by Luca, the owner and Amos, the General Manager, who both took time out of their busy day to come and have a chat. Their hospitality was most welcome. What a nice experience. We spent four nights in a lovely ocean view room and enjoyed every minute. The place is beautiful and very well taken care of. The room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. All the personnel were extremely friendly, we really felt welcome. So if you want a really nice hotel this is an excellent choice.

Wonderful experience here even if it was for a short stay. Room #10 was amazing with wonderful view on the indian ocean, staff was kind, massages great and food excellent. It’s the best accommodation we stayed in during our holiday, really worth the price.

Lovely hotel in fabulous location. Downside building work outside hotel so early wake up call at 7am every day. Hotel bar closes really early so nothing much to do at night also service slow at the beach. Manager is good and we expressed our issues with her. Think it needs the manager to be on site more as she is not often around.

Amani truly is a little slice of paradise. From the very first moment, you’re welcomed by a calm and serene atmosphere, with powder-white sand, turquoise waters, and surroundings that invite complete relaxation. The hotel blends beautifully into nature and feels exclusive without ever being pretentious – the perfect balance. What truly makes the stay unforgettable, however, is the staff. A special thank you to Elizabeth at reception, who was incredibly professional, warm, and solution-oriented – always greeting guests with a genuine smile. Also, Robert in F&B deserves high praise. His attentiveness, presence, and authentic sense of hospitality elevated the entire dining experience. The service throughout the hotel is personal, engaged, and sincere – you genuinely feel seen and cared for as a guest. The evening meals, which are included in the room rate, were of very high quality. Well-composed dishes made with good ingredients and thoughtful balance – particularly impressive given the all-inclusive nature of the offering. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety and a relaxed, enjoyable start to the day. The only minor downside during our stay was that the power occasionally went out, which meant the AC and WiFi were temporarily unavailable. Understandable given the location, but noticeable when comfort amenities are affected. Overall, Amani is a fantastic hotel – a place for complete relaxation with outstanding staff and excellent food. A destination we would gladly return to.

Excellent, small hotel on a white sandy beach. Very nice rooms and tidy everywhere. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation. Sunbeds were always available by the pool and beach. Great service and good food.

We stayed in this fabulous hotel in November and it was utter luxury. Every member of staff worked hard to make the stay very special. We have to leave a special thank you to the wonderful Robert who managed the restaurant, bar and team - thank you for looking after us so well and making our daughter's Birthday so memorable. We appreciated the small touches, like pool bags in the room, availability of yoga mats for the beach and our gifts on leaving - thank you.
