Upon entering the room it had a damp smell. The room’s air conditioning was so loud it disturbed our sleep, and the showers clearly need urgent maintenance. The pool area also feels neglected.
Attention to detail is non-existent. We had to set up our own umbrellas at the pool and hunt down towels ourselves.
Breakfast was average at best. The waiters are inattentive. The dining area had constant flies, making it nearly impossible to eat in peace. While most staff are kind and smile, the lady at the front desk had no smile, not even a "hello" upon arrival or at any other time. Leadership is lacking. There is a Gym but the treadmill does not work.

An absolute gem! Everything from the atmosphere to the service was top-notch. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for an authentic and memorable experience. Can’t wait to come back!

The rooms are quite old and could benefit from renovation. When I entered the room, I felt a bit uncomfortable, though this may have been due to tiredness after travel. I stayed for one night and noticed some marks on my feet the next morning.

I did ask for a room change, but the hotel was fully occupied at the time, and since my stay was short, I decided to continue. I wasn’t feeling well for a few days afterward, though it’s hard to say if it was related.

On the positive side, the hotel has a lovely view, which was a highlight of the stay. Breakfast was decent but could be improved with more variety.

I stayed at Golden Tulip Zanzibar recently and the experience was mixed. The property itself is nice and the majority of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming — they really made the stay pleasant.

However, the behavior of the woman who appeared to be the manager could have been much better. She was noticeably rude and not as approachable as the rest of the team, which left a negative impression, especially since everyone else went out of their way to assist.

The breakfast was also quite average. Not many choices and definitely not worthy of a hotel in this category — it felt more “okayish” than satisfying.

Overall, it’s a decent place with great staff (except for that one experience), but there’s definitely room for improvement in management attitude and breakfast quality

Everything was perfect I like so much it's the best hotel where I was living.

Had a misunderstanding regarding the city tax payable and Jacky was patient and went out her way to resolve the issue. Rooms were clean and sprayed in the evening for mosquitoes was an elegant touch. Best thing about this hotel was the buffet breakfast Chef’s kiss paired with an amazing view of the ocean. No alcohol served but rooms have a fridge do you can bring your own. Would definitely visit again👌🏾
