4Palms Resort in Ban Bang Sare

We booked this hotel due to the wonderful reviews on Google and TripAdvisor. Oh what a mistake that turned out to be.
We booked a deluxe double room which was honestly terrible. Our room was not in the main building but was next door to the resident family. Given there were only a handful of guests I did find this odd.
The worst thing about the room was the mattress. It was absolutely solid so we complained and asked to be moved room. We were told all mattresses were the same and that we couldn't move room. We were given another mattress protector to try and cushion it a bit which didn't help. We actually took 2 sun lounger cushions for some padding which did help a bit.
When we checked out we spoke to an American couple and asked about their bed. They replied that their bed and pillows are very comfortable, probably the best they've slept on. Unlike ours.
The walls had various dead bugs on them.
The wardrobe has no hangers so was useless. Didn't know we had to pack them ourselves.
We stayed for 3 nights and the room was not made up once. Bins were not cleaned and towels not changed. I changed the bin myself using plastic bags.
The hotel is very close to the town which is a bonus and you can loan a bike at reception.
Pool was nice and a decent size.
There is also a bakery at the entrance which is very nice.
They have a small gym.
I have travelled extensively throughout the world and in my opinion this is the worst hotel I have stayed in and I would absolutely not recommend staying here for love nor money. Unless they can guarantee a room in the main complex.
