Monkey Dive Hostel was, without question, one of my favorite stays in my ten months on the road. The staff were incredibly friendly. They immediately made me feel at home. every single guest who stayed there during my three weeks stay was lovely. (I had only planned two nights). Like I said, it was fantastic. This hostel draws a laid back type of person, I mean, traveler divers, need I say more? The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. They were also really affordable. The staff helped me find some incredible places to spend my time for sunset and sunrise, which was great. I managed to get some amazing photos while here. I attached a few of them below. The only downside to my stay at this hostel was that by the end, I didn't want to leave. Honestly, this review won't do my experience justice. I literally fell in love here. If you're going to spend some time in this beautiful coastal town, do not hesitate to book a few nights with monkey Dive.

Luxury Hostel if there is such a thing! really clean, big, huge common area and entertainment room, really nice helpful staff and owners! and well priced. free wifi. definately going back!!!

Stayed here a month ago. Out of the 7 hostels I stayed at during my trip to thailand/cambodia/vietnam, this was by far my favourite. They have amazing deals for snorkeling day trips and the 2 guys working the desk (did not get their names sadly) were sooooo friendly and helpful. Like actually so so amazing in their level of service. The hostel itself is really neat. Each section of rooms is labelled with different sea creatures and each room has fun facts about the different sea creatures. Super well maintained and cleaned daily. Sadly no breakfast but if I go back to khao lak, I will 100% be staying here again.

What a horrible time I had there! Ok it's clean and confortable BUT... I always had the young thai manager behind my back, staring at me . He told me many times that he didn't like when I drank beer! Just unbelievable! I could see he took some pleasure closing the fridge when I asked for another beer 2 mn before the time they are supposed to stop selling some. I get literally harassed by this guy! Even when I was cooking, he was here to check what I did, right behind my shoulder! It was way too much for me. I booked online for several nights, but suddenly I had to move out from the dorm to a private (though more expensive) room because a group of locals arrived... When I left, I forgot my phone, and stayed for a long time at the nearby restaurant. Instead of giving me back my phone (room service comes to the room as soon as you leave), the staff was laughing after me when my backpack zip get broken! I felt harassed and humiliated. I will never, ever forget. The WORST hostel experience I've had in the last 7 years I have been traveling. RUN!!!

Really cool little hostel. The whole town is very family and resort oriented. It's nice to see something a bit different. If you are on a budget but still want to see the area and maybe go and see the Similan or Surin Islands, monkey dive is a great place to stay. The rooms are very clean and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommended!!

Minimal but clean and comfortable rooms.
Well maintained showers and toilets.
Nice gardens and surroundings.
Parking.
Probably a lot safer from the once in a millennium devastating tsunami than the high end hotels down on the beach.
The only downside is distance from the beach. It is about 15 minutes walk.
Good value for money.

We had a great time in the hostel. The price is really good, the room was clean and you got free coffee and tea for breakfast. They have also a kitchen, which you can use for enjoying your own food.

Very nice and clean hostel. We slept in a double bedroom and had enough space. The bathroom is always clean and the location is quite. We didn't use the offer but they have a diving school included and offer snorkeling trips. We would definitely come back.
As we traveled with our friend in a wheelchair we noticed a disadvantage. The door to the room was to small to drive in and a wheelchair friendly entrance was missing.
But the staff helped us as much as they could.

I was staying in the bungalow, a good choice if not staying in a hotel. The service is good and the staff is nice and willing to help.

They helped us with everything we needed and even booked a great dive day at Similan Islands. The staff were nice and the place was clean. Though I think they should take the word yolo off their branding ?
