Amazing hotel, our favourite hotel on our 2-month trip. You could tell that they had really thought about the small details, and about the things that visitors actually wanted. Nice style to the rooms very sound insulated, a 7-11 right across the road, the staff were lovely, and as an icing on the cake they have a sea eagle’s nest on the roof you can see with four sea eagles nesting. When we come back to Koh Tao, we’ll only be staying here. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more.

The hotel is tucked away in a wonderfully tropical setting, reminiscent of a manicured jungle. The reception staff were fantastic. They organized excursions and taxis for us and were always there for us. Our room was on the ground floor and quite dark. We didn't find the beds very comfortable (too soft and a bit saggy). The room and bathroom are simple but clean. Breakfast in the attached café was very good, but the prices were rather high. We didn't dare rent a scooter. As a pedestrian, you feel quite at the mercy of others the first time you step out of the hotel. The traffic is unbelievable for the size of the island.

Accommodated to all our needs brilliantly, asked for decorations in the room as we were celebrating birthdays, they provided roses and balloons! The room was spotless every day and the shower was brilliant. A little fridge and water in bottles daily was very useful with the heat and the balcony was lovely to sit and chill in the afternoon! Would visit again!

An excellent compromise inland. This is our second time back to Ko Tao. Like the first time, we tried to stay at the same property overlooking the sea. Since everything was fully booked, we looked for an alternative inland location. We chose the Big Tree Boutique Hotel, and it turned out to be a good choice. Even though the property is located on one of the busiest roads on the island, it's quite quiet and peaceful. Very charming and surrounded by greenery. Our room, featuring a delightful little balcony, was located on the first floor (perhaps it's best to request the floor level if you have difficulty walking) and reached via a spiral staircase. The room and bathroom were spacious, spotlessly clean, and, although minimal, well-appointed. The balcony was delightful, with a sofa and table. It was also handy for hanging out towels and swimsuits. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and we rented a scooter to tour the island. A gas station and a very useful 7-Eleven were located across the street. A 10-minute scooter ride takes you to Sairee Beach, where you can stroll and grab a bite to eat. The property's café, which is truly excellent, offers discounted meals.

Decor and room-wise, very nice and well-equipped. Organic products and water management explained. Good. We stayed in the 2-bedroom duplex, very nice with a terrace. Friendly service. However, there was a big humidity problem in the attic room... our things "smelled" and we slept in damp sheets... meh. And especially the noise... the noise from the road and other guests. For the price paid, it's a shame. On paper, the promise of a small, charming family hotel was convincing, but we were a little disappointed. Prefer resorts by the sea.

We had a lovely time here. Polite staff. Great location. I forgot my watch at a nearby restaurant and the kind lady at the reception called them and I managed to find it. 😊

There are many things that make the Big Tree one of the most excellent accommodations on Koh Tao. At first glance, the property is located on the main road, making transportation very manageable. There's a 7-11 that opens 24-hours a day right in front. I have only good things to say about the members of the staff team, who are ever so attentive and accommodating. They're very responsive to Whatsapp chat with very good English. Best of all, their cleaning service is amazing! Room is cleaned everyday without fail. I feel refreshed every time I come back after a long day of diving. The room I stayed in was the Holiday Home. It’s spacious, well-designed, has a small kitchenette, and a smart tv to watch Netflix. There’s also a small attic above the bedroom that can be used as a playroom. They are very eco-friendly. The soap and shampoo are all made from natural ingredients and they smell incredible! All in all, I will definitely come back again whenever I visit Koh Tao in the future.
