Blue Heaven Resort Koh Tao in Koh Tao Island

You pay for the views which are absolutely incredible and worth it! The setting is beautiful and I spent hours just watching the scenery. Pick up and drop off from the pier was easy and free. The hosts aren't particularly friendly but I prefer to be left alone so that style suited me just fine. Bungalows are simple with stained curtains and bedding, uncomfortable pillows and pretty hard beds. The air con and wifi worked great! Breakfast is ok - you get basic coffee and artificial orange juice, anything of better quality is not included and was extra. At the price point of this hotel, I expected better. The hotel description on tripadvisor and amex site state that it has a private beach which is not true - there is no beach access; no path that you can take down to the water. I was specifically looking for a place with beach access so misrepresenting this on their description was not appreciated. Also they do not take credit cards which is ridiculous for a hotel in this day and age. The restaurant on site is pretty expensive. I only tried their fried banana and ice cream and wasn't impressed enough to want to try anything else. I ate at a nearby restaurant that was a 5 minute walk and a third of the price.
