Nangyuan Island Dive Resort in Koh Tao Island

We planned to stay for only two days, but we fell in love with this place and stayed for four!

The hotel staff is its greatest asset. We haven't encountered such sincere, friendly, and helpful attitudes anywhere in Thailand. After checkout, while waiting for the transfer to Koh Samui, the receptionist not only helped with our luggage but also personally took care of our boat transfer. Also, because we extended our stay, the receptionists changed our tickets to Koh Samui twice. Thank you for that!

We stayed in cabin L4. It felt like being on your own desert island: you wake up to the sound of the surf, and nothing disturbs your privacy. Yes, day tourists are brought to the island from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but hotel guests have a separate, dedicated area on the beach with sun loungers, so the feeling of privacy is maintained.

The snorkeling right off the hotel shore is amazing! We were lucky enough to see a stingray and a turtle.
There's one restaurant on the island, and the food is incredibly delicious.
If we had the chance, we would have stayed even longer. This hotel truly is a "little Thai Maldives." We left with one thought: we'll definitely be back.

The room was very nice and the view and environment at the hotel was amazing. The staff was very helpful and service mind. I will absolutely go back there again.

This was my second stay at Nang Yuan Island after more than a decade. I chose a beach villa. The view was truly stunning, with the balcony overlooking the picturesque Herringbone Beach. While the price was significantly higher than my first stay on the hill, it felt much more comfortable. The breakfast room was located just above and behind the beach villa, halfway up the hill, offering a near-perfect view of Nang Yuan Island. I had dinner there, and the view was truly breathtaking. While the snorkeling was good, I saw fewer fish than my last visit over a decade ago. Nang Yuan Island has its own boat that runs twice daily to Koh Tao (from Koh Tao to Nang Yuan: 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM). If we were to change hotels, we contacted the pier staff directly upon arrival, who then contacted the hotel staff to pick us up. The service was excellent.

The resort is quiet. The front desk staff is lovely and kind. They welcome Thai people very well. The staff who looks after the beachfront restaurant in the evening also provides excellent service.

Everything was great! I love this island and the hotel! I always come for 1-2 nights, great atmosphere!

It was an amazing, unique experience! I sailed to the island when there were no tourists, it closes at 15. And there was a feeling of exclusivity. You can be alone at the viewpoint, watch the sunset. During the day there is a queue of tourists and a completely different atmosphere. And in the morning, before the island opens at 10, you feel like the beach is all yours. The hotel is on a tiny island of incredible beauty. There you find a state of peace and bliss. Silence. The room was quite high, so there was a view of the spit. Everything in the room is super, there is even a beach bag. Good breakfast, polite staff, you can take a snorkeling mask from the hotel for free. I am delighted!

The beach is very beautiful.

I stayed one week there and appreciated every day.

- Lonely island feeling far from the world.
It's a must to stay to avoid the crowd of 11am/2pm and have a chunk of paradise for yourself outside those hours. Particularly to avoid the queue to climb the hill.

- Amazing sunset and view from the top of the hill every day.

- The staff was so caring and nice. Particularly mister Tei and miss Been while I became sick the last day.

- Diving center right on your doorstep.

- free shuttle boat to Koh Tao every day if you miss the civilization

- every bungalow have good orientation for the view.

- internet was ok.

- The shower pressure might bother some but it's not a problem under this weather.

It would be better to start to pay attention of the effect of the crowd on the nature to preserve it though. The people coming for 2/3h are so careless(i saw shoes, straw, bottles...even socks! Forgotten)
Maybe best to raise the price of the room and only allow resort resident to enter, to control the flow of people on the island without losing revenue.

I found paradise…. So c‘mon guys, stop complaining. It’s not Dubai Marina, BUT one of the most beautiful locations in the world. If you stay here you‘ll be almost by yourself past 4pm. And you can enjoy this beautiful island and snorkel and feel like Robinson Crusoe. Once i. A lifetime experience. The room was beautiful, clean, comfortable. If you wanna complain, it just would be for more comfortable chairs on the patio. And the stuff is amazing, friendly, helpful. I am so glad that i choose to spend a night here….
