Reviews
The breakfast was good, but the hotel definitely needs to get a coffee machine... right now they only have instant coffee.
Overall, my stay here left me with mixed feelings.
There’s no hot water, no hair dryer and I didn’t mind that :) Had a nice visitor during breakfast (Monkey). I would definitely stay here again.
The amenities were stripped to the basic. There was no hair dryer, or kettle.
To make a tea, you would have to go the the canteen, which was great and had good views to the pier. There was unlimited toast which you could make, with was plenty for a free breakfast.
The biggest criticism is that when we visited, there was no hot water in the shower for our entire stay.
One aspect that did get tiring over time is also the climb up the stairs every time to get to the hotel and rooms, however they have a handy suitcase elevator.
We got to see monkeys and even say a dragon and lots of cats
The rooms were cleaned well.
When sleeping you had to be under a mosquito covering as there were lots of gaps in the floors. So mosquitos could get in.
We stayed there for 3 nights. At first we had noisy neibourgs. They were loud till 4 in the morning. That was unpleasant, but it's not hotel's fault. The rest of time it was nice.
View from the balcony was not directly to sea, but it was beautiful.
Sounds from boats don't appear at night. At daytime it's easy to get used to them.
The second major issue is the noise. The hotel is located near the water, and boats are constantly passing by with loud engines. At times, it feels like you’re staying next to an airport, not a peaceful island. It’s especially difficult at night — the boats run non-stop, and it sounds like you’re sleeping on a pier. This really takes away from the relaxing vibe one might expect from a nature getaway.
The third issue is the lack of hot water. The shower only had cold water — not even lukewarm. While this may not be a big deal for some in the heat, after a long day, it would’ve been nice to take a proper warm shower instead of freezing.
Now, onto the positives. The place itself is beautiful — it feels like a nature reserve. Monkeys, lizards, and birds roam around freely. The surroundings are lush, alive, and truly tropical. You really get that raw, natural jungle atmosphere.
The location is also great — within walking distance to shops, cafes, and the beach. It’s easy to find places to eat or pick up necessities nearby.
The staff were lovely — very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. That part of our stay was definitely appreciated.
Overall, this hotel might work for those who don’t mind the heat, the lack of hot water, and the constant boat noise. But for us, these issues were significant, and after four nights, they definitely affected our overall experience. We really hope the hotel can improve by at least adding air conditioning and finding a way to reduce the noise — if so, this place could become a truly amazing destination.
The accommodation offers absolutely stunning views and a lovely garden where you might spot a few monkeys (don’t worry, they kept their distance). It’s a quiet and scenic spot that feels very close to nature.
The room is quite basic. There’s no air conditioning, but the fan was enough to keep us comfortable. There’s no hot water, but in Thailand’s heat, we didn’t really miss it. However, the bathroom could definitely use an update. It felt quite worn and could be improved for comfort and cleanliness.
We stayed here during the low season, and I wouldn’t recommend visiting Railay Beach at this time. The whole vibe was very low key, with most places either closed or operating at a bare minimum. It felt like the area was in hibernation. While the staff were friendly, we were disappointed to find that breakfast isn’t served in the low season.
One thing to note is that the property is quite far from a proper swimming beach. If you’re hoping for easy beach access, this may not be the most convenient location.
Overall, it’s a peaceful spot with beautiful surroundings, but I’d recommend coming in the high season for a more vibrant experience and better amenities.
