Reviews
Rooms: ours was not the cleanest and this was important being with a toodler that crawls everywhere. Rooms were regularly being cleaned, so that's good. Also, we were put in a room with wheelchair accessibility and that meant that there were handle bars and rams all over. Bathroom was quite large but had no counter apart from the sink to put things.
Service: Biggest issue for me was the poor level of English that the staff spoke. Mainly German speaking staff, which makes sense for them and their clients, but if you don't know either Turkish or German prepare for a rough time. Apart from that pretty good service, bar a couple of mishaps that we noticed.
Location: the hotel being immediately on the beach is awesome, and for anyone looking to just stay in the resort at all times, it's definitely a 4 or a 5. However, stepping immediately out of the resort, it's literally in the middle of nowhere with construction sites surrounding the place with dust. We wanted to visit the nearby city of Side and asked for transportation options, and they said they wouldn't recommend anything from buses and taxis since it's expensive and unreliable. In the end we went with hiring a car from the company which cost us 70€
Food was amazing!!!! Fresh, good variety and delicious. They had fruits and amazing cakes available at all times, AND baklava all the time!!!! Absolutely loved it 🥰.
The room, and all comunal areas were very clean.
Stuff were amazing, all extremely friendly and although not everyone speaks English, they were trying to help the best they could! Very smiley and polite .
Pool area great, cleaned and in good condition. I also loved that the water was very warm! Also they are not closing the pool at fixed time, which is great, if you want to dive in at 6 am, or 7 pm, you are welcome! Also, absolutely loved to have the blue cushions on the sun beds, made a massive difference!
Although seems like lots of rooms and i was expecting to be crowded, it wasn’t ! There are many sitting areas, many pools + the beach and plenty of space for all.
The beach- plenty sitting areas, good bar and good by the beach. Sand was fine by the sun beds, but had stones as you were getting closer to the water. Beach and water was clean, and water very warm!
The hotel location is not central, so you will need bus/ taxi for all the trips. Depending on the flight time, and how many stops the coach has, you can ruin a day only to come to the hotel. It can be 2 hours, or it can be 5 hours unfortunately.
The only one thing I would change is the entertainment. They have a massive stage, and also live music on the terrace , however i didn’t hear any dancing music.
Indeed, it was traditional Turkish music ( loved it, but impossible to dance if you don’t know the specific group moves) , also live English music, but a bit sad songs, not an amazing vibe, definitely not something to have fun and dance.
I was impatiently waiting every evening for a bit of dance music ( trust me, I can dance on anything, as long as it has a good vibe/ rhythm ) , but nothing… and i noticed many people around our table in the exact same situation, waving hands, wanting to dance, but no dance music.
I do respect we are in Turkey, and certainly expecting to hear Turkish music which by the way, I like, however I would have loved to listen to something popular from Turkey, or to more commercial music which normally is listen by everyone , and have a bit of party in the evening .
On every holiday, I love attending all the water zumba. Sadly, in my opinion this was the worst zumba/ aqua gym I’ve attended. Water above the chest and their movements really hard to do under the water. They used very awkward moves, and repetitive. The vibe was more like a gym coach rather than a holiday fun vibe.
Normally the team needs to have a very good vibe, singing and laughing and basically making you happy 😊. So sorry for the bad review as I am sure they work hard, but entertaining team needs a bit of an upgrade.
Overall we had an amazing time, and definitely return to Turkey 🇹🇷. Calido Maris holtel definitely deserves better reviews and I would recommend going there ( if you are not a party lover) 😄♥️
A beautiful white dress with great sentimental value was taken during the last two days of our stay. We had been leaving generous tips for the cleaning staff each day, so we never expected anything like this to happen.
I reported the incident to guest relations, but I honestly don’t believe the hotel will take it seriously or investigate properly.
The entertainment team are great, Mady and Fabio are the best people ever and we were sad to leave them! They made it possible for guests who don't speak the same language to have such fun together.
The food is definitely not catered towards English people but why would it be? If you're in Turkey you should expect to eat turkish food. Which was also great!
Our room was cleaned daily and you see people cleaning to hotel, poolside and toilets ALL DAY. We even saw a sign fall down and it was being fixed within 5 minutes!
The beach is quite rocky as you enter the water but nice and sandy by the loungers.
Oh and don't be fooled into going to Land of the legends at night... its just a shopping centre. In the day may be more fun.
All in all, we'd definitely go back, and plan to bring our whole family next time :)
The staff at Calido Maris were exceptional—always friendly, attentive, and ready to assist with any request. The dining options were varied and of high quality, with a great selection of dishes catering to different tastes. The hotel's amenities, including the pool and spa, were top-notch and added to the overall enjoyment of the stay.
Overall, my time at Calido Maris Hotel was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Side.
The meals were amazing, everything was flavorful and lots of different options to eat (very important for us at least).
A huge highlight was the animation crew they were so fun and creative! Their energy brought so much fun to our vacation, with activities for all ages. They didn’t let us gets bored at all.
I definitely recommend this hotel!
