Reviews
The reason for 4/5 stars, is because we came with children in April and we felt that the baby/toddler pool could have been heated as it was still very cold. Also the children’s entertainment started a little too late so we didn’t really get to enjoy it properly. The indoor facilities for children when it rained were great (there is an indoor play area), however it would be nice if there were some activities or classes for kids under 3 to keep them entertained over the holiday too, especially in April when it’s a little colder. (There is a kids club but only for 3yrs plus).
The rooms were great, it was very quiet and they were spotless. Although annoyingly the air con was set to a fixed temperature and we weren’t able to change it ourselves which was a little frustrating.
Overall we would definitely come back, we would just hope that in April time (beginning of season) there are a few more activities for under 3’s.
Thanks incredible staff! Also forgot to mention, the gardens all smell incredible including reception!
The grounds and staff are absolutely a 10/10. Everything is totally spotless and beautifully maintained, while nothing is too much for the staff; the welcome and goodbye we received was the best we've ever received at any hotel.
The rooms are kept spotless and are mainly very comfortable, spacious and more than good enough. We just had a few minor issues particularly with the lack of English language TV channels and the inability to be able to change the temperature of the AC.
The food is also a solid 7.5/10. The quality is very high but we felt that the selection was a bit limited, especially as most of the desserts tasted very similar. The drinks were also good as were both the al a carte and barbecue restaurants.
The surrounding area would rank about a 7/10. Kizilagac itself is okay, there are a few bazaars which sell the usual souvenirs and "designer" goods but there isn't too much to do. Getting the bus to Manavgat and Side is easy enough though and only 1 euro each which is well worth the 15-30 minute journey each way.
The Pool and Beach would get an 8/10. There is only one pool adult pool which is a little disappointing but it is more than large enough and the slides are also fun. The beach is also pretty good, with lots of sun loungers as well as hammocks and bean bags. The temperature of the pool was very cold throughout our stay and the sun lounger situation is a little annoying; having to get up a 6:30 every morning just to get an opportunity to sit near the pool isn't great.
This hotel was the 4th different one we've stayed at in Turkey and we can safely say that it is very very good and well worth the reviews it gets. However, I can only give it 4 out of 5 because it seems to be a victim of it's own success - having the reviews it has inevitably raises expectations and unfortunately, while still being nearly excellent, the few minor issues we had mean it just falls slightly short of being truly perfect.
But, nevertheless, I can't thank the team at Tui Blue Palm Garden enough for making our stay so good, keep doing what you're doing because you're doing wonderfully, and we'd love to come back again one day!
This was our third visit to the Palm Garden (although this was not acknowledged by the hotel at all which was a little disappointing - especially as our second trip had only been in September). The hotel remains as beautiful as ever but, for us it has lost a little of its sparkle this holiday.
Firstly, I would like to say a special thank you to some of the staff who really went above and beyond what was expected to help make our autistic son feel happy and settled. I apologise but, unfortunately I didn't get any names. The manageress for helping to sort our problem with accessing food for my son, the lady who makes fresh omelettes each day for breakfast - my son would only eat the omelettes she made as she did such a good job, and special thanks to our cleaner Cemile who was so lovely and friendly and kept our room so clean.
The negatives we experienced were only small but, very unusual for the Palm Garden and so were very noticeable.
Our room was in dire need of some maintenance. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, as was the soap dispenser. The plug in the sink didn't work and our patio door was warped so it didn't lock when shut. We also had a plug socket that sparked and crackled when we plugged anything in. All these issues should have been addressed before a guest checked in surely.
On a couple of occasions we picked up plates with dried food still stuck on them, and we were served cocktails from the bar on two separate occasions in cracked and chipped glasses.
We also noticed the sun beds were dirty which is extremely unusual.
We choose to stay at the Palm Garden due to the ease of accessing healthy food choices as I have a number of serious health conditions. Unfortunately, on this trip I went hungry for some meals due to the healthy option just not being available. The salads were just not replaced often enough and the chef would just rearrange the existing scrapings instead of replacing the tray. There were plenty of other food choices available, it just seemed to be the salad that wasn't replaced.
We still had an enjoyable holiday so thank you to the staff at the Palm Garden but, we are now beginning to wonder if we need a change as the hotel has lost a little bit of its sparkle for us compared to our trip in September.
Maybe we'll see you again next year!!!
If I had one suggestion about the complex that would be to make the main pool adults only one or two afternoons a week - children do have access their own pool so it wouldn’t be a hardship. As a traveller without children with me, the noise from children having fun can get a little too much sometimes. That said they do have a right to enjoy themselves too.
Even though it is in Turkey, the resort feels quite European. The staff is nice and helpful, always smiling and adding to a great vacation mood.
The food is a highlight of the stay - great variety, many vegan options and overall very tasty.
The beach is clean and there’s a lot of sunbeds, so even if you come throughout the day, you’ll be okay.
The only downside I can think of is that it’s a family hotel, so there’s a lot of kids running around making noise, but we didn’t mind - I’d absolutely recommend it for groups with kids.
Overall we had a lovely vacation and would absolutely come back! ❤️
So why only two stars?
As an adult group, we found that children running wild and uncontrolled in all areas was not acceptable, in particular at breakfast, dinner and at the bar. The hotel should provide safe areas for adults to relax and enjoy their time at the hotel. Yes, safe areas, these kids are feral !!!
Alternatively it would be more honest for the hotel to refuse bookings from adult only groups.
Service could not be better, would challenge the best hotels for friendliness, care and cleanliness.
Food very good standard, kids self-service and seating area fantastic for the little indipendant ones and the variety and quantity of the hot and cold food is great especially the BBQ overlooking the beach (well worth booking even for none meat lovers), not what I was expecting to be honest as previous holidays else where has always been a little hit and miss.
Kids are very will looked after in everyway.
Kids club is very good and the team are excellent, our little one didn't want to leave!
We all absolutely loved this place and would recomend for a family holiday.
