Golden Beach Resort & Spa in Turgutreis

!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I had booked this hotel under a false impression from their pictures, website and travel agent (On the Beach) The hotel is 100% not what is advertised!
This trip was meant to be a surprise for my partners 40th which ended up an absolute disaster!

We were rushed through reception and up to our "Promo room with a land view" that I had paid extra for! On opening the door to what was meant to be our luxury room was nothing but disappointment, there was 1 double bed that looked like its sheets and pillows had been thrown at it and couldn't get round, 1 single bed with the headboard hanging off with exposed wires coming from the back and a large red arm chair covered in dirty marks all squashed into a tiny dirty room along with an overpowering smell of damp, we were handed our key card and told to be back down at reception tomorrow night at 1730, we had no idea what for!
After the receptionists who barely spoke any english left all we could do was stand and take in the monstrosity of what we'd been given.
The OVERPOWERING smell of damp was coming from what could only be described as a condemned bathroom, the roof and all woodwork was covered in BLACK MOULD! Every inch and touchable surface was dirty and mouldy, with clumps of hair and bit's of old toilet paper on the floor, along with holes in the walls and skirting and a broken toilet seat.
No towels were included and to my belief we would of had to pay extra for the luxury!

Looking at the rest of the room the corners were dirty and dusty with yet again more exposed wires, a curtain that was suppose to be white but was now black for never seeing a washing machine with years of damp build up hanging over our balcony that needed a safety harness to go out on due to the 2 glass panels hanging out of their fittings along with the broken concrete on the floor and if you dared to look over the side you would see piles of rubbish with a foul smell drifting up for you to enjoy.
The vanity table that was so beat up and stained it should of have been retired years ago along with the chair under it that was stained with God only knows, along with more exposed wires coming from the top of the mirror, fridge was broken and covered in black mould and if you wanted your bedside light on for a spot of late night reading then forget it as there were no light bulbs in the rusty old lamps.

We decided to leave the room and go for a walk around the resort (looking at the state of the room what's the rest of the place like) it appeared that the resort wasn't for international holiday maker but more of a community hub for all the locals to come to during the day, the pool was run down and dirty, the boarded walk ways were nothing but a trip hazard as they were swollen, rotten and starting to lift, sunbeds that were so worn they were ripping at the sides and should of also been in retirement.
There was no food or clean bottled drinking water available, staff that were very unhelpful, rude and honestly felt like they didn't want to be there.

With all the disappointment we wandered back to reception with no high hopes for better accommodation but it was worth a try right! Wrong, the receptionist couldn't see any problems with the room that he'd given us and his first suggestion was he would get housekeeping in, we asked to see an other room as our current one was needing more than housekeeping at it, he reluctantly agreed and showed us a further 2 rooms which were as equally awful and told us that our current room was in the new, renovated building, all I can say is that the whole place should be condemned as it is definitely not fit for purpose!!
After seeing our 2 other room options we decided that we didn't feel clean, safe or welcome and checked out, the staff appeared completely unfazed and saw no problems with the hotel and were no help finding us a taxi to our new hotel, so we ventured out into a foreign country completely blind with our holiday spirits crushed!

I write this in the hope to save other unbeknown holiday makers like myself from this nightmare

* food poisoning
* eat salad and pasta
* have no access to kids club
* kids entertainment when i say fanta look up when i say cola look down
* dirty bedding
* book for 4 people but get a small room for 2 people cause they dont consider kids as humans and should be sleeping on sofas
* dirty beach with rubbish everywhere and dirty sun beds
* music on repeat blasting on pool side
* hands in the ice tray when filling up drinks straight after the barman has smoked and plastic cups used without washing

This hotel needs a urgent change of management

This is message to all western tourist companies - please remove this hotel from your list if you still want to have customers.

This was the worst holiday of my life and its all because of wrong advertising.

Briefly :

- disgustingly dirty everywhere (rooms, bathroom, toilets, restaurant, pool, beach and everywhere else)

- staff non speaking english, short on staff, they seem not to be interested at all to provide good service and I dont blame them when I saw the conditions they have to work.

- no wi fi in the rooms, lift not working in 5 floor building.

- no cleaning service (we had to beg everyday in the reception for towels and toilet paper.

- worse food i have ever seen in hotel... mainly cheap frozen food all leftovers from breakfast, lunch etc. I had 4 day dhiaria. luckily I the nearby town had some good restaurants where I had to go everyday to eat.

- stinky everywhere... rotten food, tables not cleaned after customers finish etc.

- beach is not beach lol that's some man made up sand and extremely dirty too! people just don't look after anything.. cigarettes everywhere and all sort of garbage.

I can go way longer but its pointless to me this hotel seem to be destination for local people who probably haven't ever been to another hotel and cant really compare they seem to be happy and the management seem to like this.

Not just wasted money, but me and my family are disappointed from the so waited "holiday" ... so happy not to be there anymore life is back!

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST

The worst holiday ever, no wifi in the rooms, disgusting food and barley anything to eat and the cleaning services is so bad, i was waiting days for my room to get cleaned and even asked the receptionist 3 times to get the maid. they said they will call her, after that NO RESPONSE! nothing interesting and the rooms are TINY and with 2 uncomfortable beds and the snack bar was only opened for 2 hours. and breakfast, it’s not worth waking up for breakfast i could literally eat the breakfast the make in the hotel for DINNER!! vegetables and soup for breakfast?? everyone and i mean EVERYONE are so careless about us tourists. first time in turkey and last time. this hotel makes me NEVER wanna go back to turkey. whoever works at Golden Beach Hotel needs to know that they aren’t doing there job right! me and my family felt so filthy and unwelcomed in this hotel, don’t waste ur money on this stupid zoo-like hotel.

I first time stayed at Golden Beach Bodrum and honestly, it was not what I expected from a 4-star hotel.

The food was average at best – not terrible, but definitely not great either.

Room service was very poor – slow, unhelpful, and at times completely absent.

There was nowhere to relax – no space by the pool or the beach, everything was overcrowded.

The staff didn’t seem welcoming at all. It genuinely felt like we were not wanted there, which made the whole stay uncomfortable.

I don’t understand how this hotel has a 4-star rating. Based on my experience, it should be no more than 2 stars. If this is the standard in Turkey, it’s definitely misleading for international visitors.

Cockroaches in the rooms, filthy areas everywhere, broken sunbeds on the beach and by the pool. The bar was closed 20 minutes before official hours and today the water fridge was locked with a padlock — guests couldn’t even get drinking water!

Food is extremely poor — the same frozen ground meat at almost every meal, no fresh fruit, very low quality. The hotel is old and neglected — absolutely not renovated as claimed in the offer.

Now the place is also full of local groups — today over 100 screaming children arrived. Noise all day, dirt everywhere, no chance to relax. Staff barely speaks English and avoids contact. Internet barely works.

This is by far the worst “4-star” hotel I’ve ever been to — should be rated 2 stars at most. Total waste of money — DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!

So, first of all, if you don’t tip a generous amount from the first moment you enter the hotel it’s like you don’t exist.
We arrived in the morning and had to wait until 15:40 or so to enter the rooms, but they said at first that it would take maximum to 2 P.M.
We did not get hand soap and shampoo the entire time, even though their website said we would. Also, not enough towels, we got body towels only on one day, and only 2 of them, but the room was a triplet.
The food was kinda mid, the drinks were surprisingly good though.
The staff were on their phone all the time, but there were some good ones too (if you gave them tip, ofc).
They stop giving Ice Cream before 5, and “coffee break” is a JOKE, they give you a few wafers. Also, all coffee is the soluble tipe, Ness.
The beach was dirty and very small.
There was a guy at the bar that gave us our pepsi WITH HIS FINGERS IN THE CUP!
Turkish night was kinda fun.
Overall, it’s really not worth going, but if you have already booked your trip here don’t freak out cause you can still have fun.
Don’t even think about coming here if you’re still looking at options.
