Bengodi Boutique Hotel in Eceabat

It was truly disappointing that the breakfast at a hotel of this level was so poor. The variety was very limited, and there were serious issues with freshness (even the simit was rock hard). Guests staying at a hotel in this segment expect a much higher quality breakfast. The hotel’s architecture is genuinely impressive and aesthetically pleasing. However, the overall management approach feels more focused on profit than on customer satisfaction. In a boutique hotel, service quality and guest experience should always come first. There is almost nothing to do both within the hotel and in the Eceabat area. A hotel of this scale should offer more options for guests to enjoy their time. On our second day, while we were having lunch, the owner told us, “You are very lucky, you’ve got the whole hotel to yourselves.” At first, this sounded nice and we thought we would enjoy the exclusivity. However, as time passed, we became quite bored due to the complete lack of activities and decided to return to Istanbul at around 10 PM. Our original plan was to stay that night and work remotely from the hotel the next day before heading back in the evening. However, being the only guests in such a large hotel with nothing to do made it impossible to continue with that plan. When we informed the staff about our early departure, we were told that since the payment was made via **********, we needed to contact them for a refund. We were also assured that the hotel would approve the request. However, the next day, after ********** contacted the hotel, our refund request was declined. The hotel manager, Mr. İsmail, stated that since we had used the hotel, they would not be able to assist. In conclusion, while the hotel is visually impressive, it falls far short in terms of service, experience, and customer satisfaction. Despite positioning itself as a luxury property, it does not meet expectations. We also realized why there were so many movie posters in the lobby — it seems to be an attempt to give guests something to do so they don’t get bored. Essentially, there is nothing to do either at the hotel or in the town — it feels like you are expected to just sit in your room and watch movies. Unfortunately, our overall experience was very negative, and we would not consider staying here again.

Quite possible one of the rudest experiences I have ever had with hotel management. The room that I was given was quite dark with very little natural light and very dark furniture / finishes. Upon asking to change rooms I was told there is noting available in the hotel, and the upon asking to speak to the manager he said and I quote “you booked the cheap room so pay more” and I’m like there are no cheap rooms at this hotel, the place is empty and surely you must have a room at the same level which is brighter with more natural light. He then says that “you are cheap” to which I take quite some offence and to which he realises his mistake and miraculously finds me a room with more natural light and lighter finishes. He wa so rude in a very uncomfortable manner and he should not be in the “hospitality” industry. Don’t bother. Overpriced and you pay for rudeness.
