A terrible hostel. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Good location.

Stay here if you'd like to get put into the wrong bed by staff, and have an angry Arabic guy scream at you at 2am. Stay here if you want a broken air conditioning machine that noisily drips water onto the floor all night, covering most of the room in water every morning. You might try to contact the staff, and perhaps they respond but ultimately ignore your request.

It gets better, they even have bed bugs. I love being itchy and washing everything thoroughly when I get home. Great stay

I liked probably only the bed itself, a good mattress, bed linen and a blanket. BUT! It is located on a very busy street, the upper bed is near the window and also without curtains, well, i.e. transparent, there is tulle, but the light from the lanterns is very bright. Maybe they need to be adjusted near the windows or the seal needs to be replaced, in general there is no soundproofing. But at least I was lucky with the neighbors, they are quiet and calm. And it would also be good to add to the description that there is no one from the staff here, they just send you the code for the door and the room in messages. And this is another big minus because the front door and the door to the room did not lock for me, you just open the door, no codes are needed, i.e. your things are in a locker with a latch in the room that does not close. The toilet and shower are on the second floor, and I lived on the fourth, it is not convenient to constantly run back and forth

Guests are mostley locals ( very kind people)
Rooms are very cosy.
Too many stairs to reach the third floor.

During my stay, rooms weren't fully booked, but the shower was always cold.
The location is among bars and cafes, perfect for night life.

Everything is good, but the stairs of the building are very steep, so people with bad knees should be careful.

Location is great, owner is friendly. Yet I have to say the room is very small, pretty much just the bed and four closet and no space is left. The surrounding neighborhood creates noises at day and night. The upper bed has no guardrail, the wooden shelf above my head is already loose and could fall at any moment, which I believe will cause safety issue so I run away from this hostel immediately. The owner refused to refund because I have already pass the deadline to make a refund, but how could I put myself in such a danger environment. I feel really disappointed and the check in progress doesn’t need passport, which can also cause certain level of safety issue. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who visit Istanbul and try to have a beautiful trip. I booked another hostel, which is cheaper and much spacious and make me feel more confident about my safety.

The location is amazing! The main thing is why I recommend it. I didn’t like that there was no kitchen, but there was a kettle and a microwave. It is difficult to find staff for check-in. There are no places to dry clothes. But it all pays off in price and location. It’s located on a street like this with umbrellas.

Lovely cafe. Sweet old lady who spoke little English but was very helpful and served us a delicious breakfast.

I went for the cafe, never knew there was a hotel or smth. Anyway, the breakfast was delicious and not overpriced, the Bazlama was juicy and not too heavy for a breakfast. The Meneman and the fries were just so right but i ordered a Flat White but they got me a Cappuccino! They were so lovely though and i enjoyed it💖💖

My husband and I are currently visiting Istanbul and stumbled across this lovely cafe within a 2 minute walk of our hotel. We both got the cheese omelet and it was so delicious!! Very reasonably priced at around 800 Turkish lira for the both of us. Everything even down to the honey and the butter were so fresh and tasted great. Definitely recommend for a quick bite in the morning

We’ve been in Istanbul for five days. This was the best breakfast—authentic Turkish breakfast recommended by a local. It’s on a super cute street under a canopy of umbrellas. We highly recommend!

Very loud on weekends, hard to sleep because of the music from bars around. Room is nice but they barely clean the rooms when you request it. Location is convenient if you don’t worry about the noise on weekends.

Fantastic boutique hotel in excellent location for shopping, bookstores, cafe society! Very French, in charm and hospitality and cuisine. Charming boutique hotel Close to Galeta Tower but on a quiet cobbled side street with antique shops & cafes. Lovely rooftop restaurant, perfect for breakfast or dinner or coffee with sweeping view of Golden Horn. Staff is very welcoming and helpful (I didn’t understand the shower!) (the came right up and showed me!) Our room was very comfortable & quiet.

A nice boutique hotel. We have had amazing experiences in the previous times I had been there with my wife. However the last time would probably be the last time because the pricing is just absurd. It is the inflation that is the biggest problem, but George Hotel milked this situation for every Cent or Lira in this case. The service is still impeccable, the rooms have so little privacy even with my partner it feels awkward at times, everything is within walking distance which is great, however, I don't think it is worth the price anymore... Value for money is just not there no matter how good of a service they have, the hotel feels worn out a bit, stiched together in places. I still love it, had the best memories years ago. But my last visit a couple of weeks still stings. In all fairness, if all you care about is service and accessibility to everything and price is not an issue nor is privacy. This hotel is for you. Otherwise you are better off somewhere else

My wife and I have spent wonderful time in Georges Hotel. The place is chic and beautiful, the service is very welcoming and helpful. The top terrasse restaurant view and food quality make it difficult to go elsewhere for dining. We've been blessed to discover that hotel. It's location make it so convenient to walk around the city historic neighbouroug and beyond.

Location is absolutely amazing, but we were lied about the room as we reserved a sea view with balcony but have received a “garden” view which smells like cat piss when you open the balcony. They said they have received a different type of reservation by the service provider and were showing a flying paper with a room code which responds to a normal room, which means nothing to us.

The rooms have molded floors around the bathroom, smell like mold and the view is non existent.

Bathroom ceilings are molded and when you take a shower the whole bathroom area has couple of centimeters of water. The shower was broken as well.

The beds are on the lower side of the comfort as well and the room isolation is like a cardboard.

Absolutely an awful experience and would not recommend despite the good location. I am leaving pictures so anyone can be a judge (can’t leave the scent unfortunately). It’s a 3 star hotel at the absolute most and don’t know how they got 4… maybe few years ago, but now everything is run down.

The manager Georges repeats 10 times how everything can be arranged and have a nice experience, but actually takes no action at all.

The staff tries to be nice and helpful but does nothing as well, probably because of management.

Note:
As a reply to the comment below, since its not possible to respond. We are free to do what we like stay or not, comment or not. Despite the wrong reservation, i left photos which has nothing to do with the reservation but just showing the real image of the hotel. So everyone can be a judge.

Really lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Galata!

I stayed at Georges Hotel Galata for five nights and had a great experience. The location is perfect: steps from Galata Tower and all the energy of Beyoğlu, with Karaköy's waterfront just down the hill.

The rooms have beautiful high ceilings that make the space feel elegant and airy. The showers are wonderful, and I loved the thick towels and sheets (plus there's a heated towel warmer, which is a nice touch). PRO TIP: ask for a room on the garden side if you can. The neighbourhood is lively and bustling, but the garden-facing rooms are surprisingly quiet.

What really stood out was the service. The concierge staff are genuinely kind and helpful, not just going through the motions. They made reservations at local restaurants for us and gave great recommendations. When I had a plumbing issue in my room, the manager Mr. Serkan personally checked on it multiple times and made sure everything was handled professionally. That level of attention makes a real difference.

Oh, and there's a charming resident cat named Lollipop who adds personality to the place

The rooftop bar has spectacular views and excellent cocktails. If you're looking for boutique luxury with personal service in the Galata area, I'd definitely recommend Georges Hotel.
