Beymelek Tas Evler in Demre

Okay I have read all the previous reviews and they are very different from our experience. We are walking the Lycian way 300kms in 21 day’s staying at different places each night. This place with out doubt was the worst place we stayed in. We have thought long and hard to find something positive about this place but sadly there are none. It’s dirty and dingy full jars of cigarette ash in bar leaving bad smell. There were half drunk coffee cups left lying around for what looked like days and the beer glasses were dirty. In short the place was an health hazard. Outside our room was a pile of mattresses and rolls of toilet paper. The door to the room could only be opened with a lot of force. The house maybe old but it shows none of its grandeur as it’s dark and cluttered with mattresses and other stuff even a fridge in the corridor which holds the beer. the owner was simply the most arrogant passive aggressive person we have met along our journey. He is an ex politician by all accounts which may account for his skill at bossing people including us. The beers were 40% more expensive than anywhere else owner charges in euros and does his own exchange rates to TL which are very favourable to him. I would class him as a crook. So please do not stay here the view is only good if you like looking at white plastic tunnels growing vegetables it’s not conveniently situated it’s not a pleasant place to stay at all and you will be swindled on prices and subjected to the arrogate owner who seems to have had a lot of experience at telling people what to do without listening to what they want. The perfect politician.
