That said, the hotel itself feels like it hasn't been updated since the 80s or 90s. Everything—from the furniture to the bathroom fixtures—felt old, worn, or partially broken. The single beds were uncomfortable, and the shower was in poor shape. There wasn't even a small fridge in the rooms, which was inconvenient, especially in the summer heat. While they did store my medication in their beverage fridge upon request, it would have been much easier if each room had its own mini fridge for water or essentials.
Another major downside was the lack of an elevator. My elderly mother struggled with going up and down three flights of stairs. The air conditioning units were outdated and barely cooled the room. At USD 135 per night, for 5 nights, I expected far better value—especially coming from Canada, where even in high-demand tourist areas, this rate would offer much more.
This review isn’t to complain, but to suggest improvements. The hotel was fully booked during our stay, so it’s clear they have steady business. I sincerely hope they start reinvesting in much-needed renovations and upgrades to match the price guests are paying.

For basic the least I expect is clean but this isn't clean and staff don't really care if you show or tell them - mould stains in shower; previous occupants rubbish under bed (receipts; cotton make up pads).
Corridors are dark and dingy and there are no fans or AC in common lobby areas (there was one which was swiftly removed).
Beds are hard.
Saving graces - pool is ok (tho slide dysfunctional for years) and breakfast is bearable.
Maybe they were? It is at the top of a steep hill and when it’s hot, it’s a bit of a killer. One of these hotels that saw it Hay Day has not been maintained very well.
