We arrived about 6ish my daughter had arrived 30mins before us, she warned us the guy on reception was rude. The hotel entry was light and modernish, and yes my daughter was right he clearly doesn't have job satisfaction. If you have mobility issues this may prove an issue as excepted with a build a 100years old floors squeak stairs and wonky lots of twists and turns perks a century old building. Our room was large, tall ceilings, huge windows and very very warm. Two single beds pushed together with a duvet for a double bed no biggie as two singles in the wardrobe. The owners had built a bathroom area toilet, sink, double shower and some strange blue mirrors! Breakfast is basic yoghurts, fruit, hot juice yep you read that right, three types of cerals pre-made hot breakfast sorry I didn't try it toast machine was broke and the ladies toasted it for you, coffee in tea pots. The ladies were lovely friendly and appeared.to work hard had numerous roles in the hotel. Location is great opposite the i360, beds were sealy. Would I book again possible.

Lovely quaint hotel within an old regency building. Decoration and furniture a bit tired but went with the overall feel of the hotel. We had a lovely room (room 10) overlooking the sea and with lovely high ceilings and a balcony. There is an old lift with a metal gate that reminded me of my years nursing in an old hospital!!! Very convenient for the beach and walk into town to the Lanes and Brighton Pavillion which was amazing. Lots of restaurants and pubs in the street nextdoor. Good basic breakfast and two lovely ladies serve you. Overall a bit tired but good value for money and a great location

This was my second time staying at the beach hotel and I will certainly be returning again.

It’s a fabulous hotel for the price charged.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms may be a little dated but the beds are comfortable and the standard of cleanliness is very high.
The breakfast was excellent and service was faultless

Lovely old Hotel in a really convenient location. We weren't expecting great things but although it's tired and in need of updating, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Jimmy was a star. He knew we were unhappy with our allocated room, but he went out of his way to find us an alternative. Lovely bath with loads of hot water and well heated room.

Stayed here over Christmas with my family. Great location for centre of Brighton and the beach. Lovely Regency style hotel with a wonderful lift dating back to 1967 capable of holding only 2 people maximum. Slightly quaint hotel but with lovely staff and a great complimentary breakfast. Overall very good value. No parking but close to the underground car park in Regency Square. Only slight downside was the lack of WiFi on the upper floors.

Rooms are dated and dusty.
Caroers need replacing.
Staff are very polite, approachable and hardworking.

Great stay - great location for Brighton Centre. Its not very modern but perfect for 1 night stay. Check in was smooth, bathroom was hidden through a door that looks like a cupboard, that was a little tight on space too. Bed huge, but all fine. Not great for mobility issues as very tight stairs, there is a lift but not for me, very small and old school lift. Breakfast was fine, everything you needed for a nice breakfast, toast, cereal, fruit, tea and coffee, orange juice etc. Just no pastries, which for us was fine. Its about 30 mins walk from the train station, taking your time. All in all it was great for what we needed it to be.

The staff were indeed friendly and helpful but the room is 'tired' looking and money needs to be spent on the rooms to make it more attractive for guests.

Nothing wrong with this reasonably priced hotel. Comfy, clean room, friendly staff and yummy breakfast. Old fashioned lift and hall carpets but so what? I enjoyed my one night stay.

Very pleasant stay at The Beach Hotel was attending a local venue for a gig. Room clean furniture and tad old and tatty but don't let this ruin your stay. Staff very polite and smiley. Breakfast basic selections but enough for you to take your pick.

Really impressed! Wonderfully pleasant staff, service quick and tables cleaned quickly too. We had a variety of dim sum which all tasted very good.

Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

Great Chinese restaurant with great food on offer. Helpful friendly staff make you feel very welcome. Pricing is also very good.

Delicious Dim Sum. Had lunch there on my birthday. Lovely meal. Can't wait to go back. Staff very nice, efficient and helpful. They got me a cab, cab driver drove off as I went out the door. They got me another one. And waved me goodbye. Also price of food very reasonable.

Staff is rude, I took my family and friends to taste Chinese food in Chinese garden twice. The staff behaved very inappropriate both times. They should know that we are paying to have a happy hour in the restaurant. We are paying to them and their first duty is to learn how to behave people. So sorry for them and not gonna go there anymore. There are other Chinese foods in town owned by very polite and lovely Chinese people. Hope the staff read this review one day and try to be a polite person from then.

Mixed platter, great, duck very dry, sweet and sour chicken lovely but the chicken in yellow bean sauce was inedible to me. It was that bloated slimy chicken that some restaurants are using now. No one came to ask if food okay so didn't send it back. However, £95 was extortionate price for meal that did include a £20 bottle of wine but no desserts or coffees.
I have tasted much better in other Chinese Restaurants. The owner, I think she was, was very rude to a couple on the next table to us. I think charging service charge is unacceptable, I pay for good service myself without it being taken and it was more than the 10% i would have left!

Good but just a little wide of the mark. Taramasalata was good but the meatballs (SOUTZOUKAKIA SMYRNEIKA) I had for the main just weren't that good. Maybe I just chose badly. On the plus side, very friendly and helpful waiter and it was inexpensive.
20.10.2017 Murray
Great service and a well priced house wine. Unfortunately that was it for us! The hummus was off the shelf the Calamari was fried in old oil and all the meat wasn’t quality nor was it well prepared and then guess what! Yes they burnt it! Sorry guys...Obviously not a good night in the kitchen but hopefully you can move forward from these honest comments.
10.10.2017 Robert
Service from waiter was okay, however we ordered the mezze for two at around £50. For that we were expecting great things however the food was very average and our meat for the mains was burnt. I love chargrilled food but this was burnt thick black on sides of the meat. Shame and didn't enjoy, could have done better at home!

Amazing authentic food and a great price . Their mixed grill platter is definitely worth trying.. friendly service and I love the fact that the music makes me feel as if I'm in Greece ?
19.09.2017 David
Food was mediocre . Greek salad was just some roughly chopped vegetables with a slice of (good) Fetta cheese on top. Moussaka tasted like powdered potato on top of mince. Restaurant was cold with no atmosphere. Drinks on menu werent all available. Why offer Jack Daniels if you cant supply it? Just pop down to the off licence and get some more! Our waiter was very pleasant but it felt like they couldnt wait for the season to be over, which, to be fair, it almost was. I've just noticed someone else complaining about the toilet. My partner gave an equally bad review of that service too. Toilets nearly always give an indication of how good a restaurant is.

I was very happy to find this place at last! Super polite and friendly staff, food was amazing. Their sushi is just like the ones in Japan! Thank you Sushi Garden
04.09.2017 Jo
I love coming here for sushi! It's my go-to place in Brighton. There is a great range of smaller dishes as well as larger meals plus a good mix to choose from if you don't fancy sushi and want a hot meal. The staff are super friendly and the service is always cheery

We had a fantastic time at Sushi Garden.
The fish was tender, melted in your mouth and the squid starter blew us away.

Also tried some delicious Choya wine- 100% worth the price tag.

Staff were delightful, atmosphere on point, everything about it was just right. Don't miss if you're on Preston Street.
