Sky Harbor Airport Inn in Phoenix

It was Mary, the shuttle driver, that saved this whole trip for me. I arrived just before check-in. Was told by the staff it’ll be a few minutes, went outside to start organizing my belongings for my 4 AM flight the next day. Noticed my tire was flat went inside to see if there was anyone to help, no. Desk staff not helpful. Went back outside to start trying to change a tire by myself… And realized my wallet was stolen in the meantime. With no cash or credit cards I was unable to check in ,again no sympathy from the staff Mary the shuttle driver offered to help with my tire.(I am handicapped) hitched a ride to the check cashing place, and was able to come up with enough funds to pay for my room. Mary even offered to get me a Uber, since I had no way to pay for my own. The afternoon front desk guy was very snarky told me there was no rooms available but I explained that I already had a reservation so he was forced to give me a room. The room was fine. The grounds were fine. But I will not be a return customer. I travel frequently for businesses.

The room was awful. We did need a pet friendly room and it smelled so bad. The walls were beat up, the paint was chipping, and the carpet was stained everywhere. I understand the pet friendly rooms are often not the best because of the nature of the room. In the numerous hotels we have stayed at when traveling with our pet, this one was by far the absolute worst. Plus the rooms was extremely small. Very hard for 2 adults and 2 kids with a dog, to move around in. He breakfast was very limited and they ran out of food before breakfast was over. We will never consider staying there again.

AVOID AT ALL COST...Anyone of color I strongly advise you NOT stay here or anyone that is looking for a decent stay. Management (Des) was nothing but discriminatory towards me and my family. Never felt racism so strong within a individual. Even when trying to have a constructive conversation with Management, he made it his job to talk down on me never trying to solve issues accordingly and went well beyond his way to disrespect my name. Very disappointed in the treatment we had to experience. Never again will I stay at Choice Hotel....
