Comfort Inn Sea World Area in San Diego

I’m really disappointed in my stay here for several reasons:

The hotel staff was hit and miss. Some of them were friendly, others were not. It felt like you were annoying them by checking in or out, because they had other issues to deal with.

Staff aside, the location of the motel didn’t seem secure. It’s one of the few times I’ve stayed somewhere where I never left anything in my room or car. Not only because it seems like the rooms were easy to break into, but also like the staff wasn’t trustworthy either. (I don't just mean the actual location, since right next door there is another hotel that has a more secure facility.)

The shower pressure was very weak and I found long black hairs in certain areas like on towels that were supposed to be clean.

By far my biggest complaint, however, was that there was a loud noise at 8 am on Saturday morning - which ended up being workers the hotel had contracted to fix some cords. The staff was rude when I tried to figure out what was happening, and I left to go stay somewhere else since I couldn’t sleep. The manger let me know this was a mistake because the workers were supposed to arrive later, but when I requested a concession I felt was fair, she denied it - instead offering me a discount on a future stay (no thank you).

Giving 1 star simply because of low cost and free parking. Breakfast was also fine, even though it was way too crowded.

I can genuinely say that I would not stay at or recommend this motel, even for free.

Each of these options do not deserve a one star. Full stop.
