Inn at Temescal in Oakland

Front desk was super nice upon check in and again when I had a minor key issue (that was immediately resolved). Room is clean and recently remodeled and modern. It's a two block walk to the BART station with lots of food delivery options nearby. I do wish the door had a better seal on it. There is no escaping the street noise - lots of it. Neighborhood is not the best in the world but improving and fairly typical for Oakland.

The Inn is a small, renovate motor-count. The rooms are renovated, clean and modern; great shower. The staff was lovely and accommodating even with a very late arrival due to plane delays. The area is a bit funky with fun, artsy shops and a wide variety of dining options. The only negative was due to not checking for open windows so we heard freeway traffic with the early morning commuters.

The front desk staff was wonderful and engaging. Checked all of us that were traveling for work in with humor and efficiency proper for a late night check in. The place has been renovated somewhat recently so it looks fresh and worked for me because I really just need a place to sleep for a few nights. One thing: if you are a light sleeper, the walls are fairly thin. I could hear snoring from the next room over and easily the traffic outside on the decently busy street.

Nice, clean, modern, well furnished rooms. My only complaint is the bottom of the bed frame was made of thin metal which made a noise when getting in/out of bed.
Easy to get to MacArthur station which can take you to San Francisco city.

After camping in the woods for two weeks, Temescal felt like a dream. The hotel is clean, painted with fun colors, and the accessories are up to date and modern. Our truck felt safe with the gates surrounding the property. The man at the front desk was kind and efficient. Overall, GREAT value for your money.👍🏼

So this is a bit of a mixed bag, but with more positives than negatives. It is in a building that was recently renovated. It used to be a pretty run down motel (that's what locals tell me) but they put a lot of money and time into revitalizing it. The room was pretty nice overall. Everything was new(er) and was everything I needed. There was a blow dryer but not an iron, so bring your own if you need to. The staff at the front desk was polite, but the door to enter is locked and is a bit awkward once inside. it is on a very busy street, so if you are a light sleeper you might struggle here. Overall, I would give it a shot...it is definitely different than your typical Holiday Inn Express or Marriott type stay.

Always a pleasure to stay at this location! The staff is exceptional. The rooms are very clean, and modern. We appreciate the hard wood floors and chic furnishings. There are many convenient touches such as a keurig and coffee pods. My wife and i always appreciate staying here, and look forward to it! We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Stay here and you will have a lovely time.

I was worried because of the reviews but luckily Nick was there the entire time and made us feel welcome. The price is good for the location. Just 2 1/2 blocks from the BART. Nick even allowed us to leave our bags at the office after we checked out so we could take one more day trip into San Francisco before our evening flight. I did have some complaints though. Like the previous reviews said there was only one towel available when we walked in despite me purposefully listing 4 people when I booked the room. Talked to Nick about it before leaving for our excursion in San Francisco and came back to find ONE extra towel, still not enough for our group of 4. The body wash dispenser in the room was also empty but we brought our own and Nick told the cleaning staff to refill it as soon as he was made aware of it. The walls are also THIN! So if you are a person who cannot sleep through traffic noise this may not be the place for you. Still the room and bathroom were clean and a decent side and the beds were soft so it was a pleasant stay overall dispite the lack of towels.
