Great views and comfort, but watch out for extra charges!
I recently stayed at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. While the hotel itself is very nice, I encountered an issue that significantly impacted my experience.
Despite having booked and fully prepaid my stay through Trip.com, the hotel attempted to charge me an additional $45 per day plus tax for the so-called "Destination Fee" at check-in. After contacting the hotel, they refunded the fee after multiple letters and two weeks.
This seems to reflect a policy of charging the Destination Fee by default, regardless of whether it has already been prepaid through third-party booking platforms. I worry that many guests either don't notice the charge or aren't aware that it may already be included in their booking.
That being said, breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the facilities are generally high-quality. If the billing issue hadn't occurred, my stay would have been much more enjoyable.
Overall, it's a lovely hotel in a great location—but guests should carefully check their bill and be prepared to follow up if something doesn't add up!

Information In-app $35 pay at hotel but I paid actualy $80 at the checked in date, it's amenity automatically fee billed without inform before.
Also I request the slipper but no one get it to me and bathroom essentials, No bottles water in our room.

Recently stayed at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The location is right by the water, couple of restaurants at walking distance. There’s a USS Midway aircraft carrier museum nearby to walk to as well.
I stayed at a basic room in the North Tower. Rooms are big with wide balcony facing the street. Good rooms decor and space. Bed is comfy. Bathroom doesn’t have exhaust fan. Balconies have small space where one can move into another room’s balcony. Daily room service can be selected and cleaning is good per expectation.
Food is very expensive in the hotel. Mostly ate outside which was little less expensive. Didn’t try room service for food.

Delicious! its always a treat to have dinner at Roys. The menu items are cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The staff is attentive and the view of the boats in marina will delight you.

Absolutely nothing special. You can find equally quality food in any of 20-30 places downtown and prices aren't cooperative. Deffinately a great view of the marina though. Just an ok place.

First time at this Roy's, food and service fair. Two gripes about this place. Ate shellfish sampler, lobster was overdone and rubbery while rest of dish good. And had a table of 5 and put by kitchen when plenty of tables and outdoor seating available, they stated big conference in town which we were part of. It was our first time there highly recommended but it was so dark we couldn't read the menus without our phone flashlights that the waiter suggested. I find that bad when plates on menu are 50$ and can't even see food . Would not go back here or tell about to friend's. Hostesses were NOT accommodating. Rude in fact. For a high end restruant poo pooh.

Everything was great. I highly recommend the taste of the menu 4 course meal. Next time I am trying the lamb. For some reason, the bacon did not pair well with the shrimp. Looked divine, though. Maybe just my picky palate.

This place was good, but considering the many amazing restaurants in this area of downtown I most likely wouldn't come back. This is clearly a place aimed towards people already staying at the Hyatt and looking for something slightly more upscale than casual dining and conveniently located. Not a place to go out of your way for, though if you're not staying here. Hostess seemed a little scattered, but was overall nice. Food server was professional and provided excellent service . Food offerings were pretty good too. I arrived to dinner having already eaten quite a bit so I stuck to clam chowder in a bread bowl and found the soup to be lukewarm and bread not warm and toasted like I usually look forward to with this staple dish . Rest of the family got some really nice menu items though and overall seemed decently satisfied with what they received. Nothing really to complain about , but nothing particularly special to make this place stand out either, especially considering price point .

Meals were tasty and presented well. We had the swordfish and sea bass fish n chips. Both were excellent. Std normal portion sizes (not american) which we like. Fish and chips could use improved coleslaw. Sallys might earn the 5th star on our next visit.

Have been coming here for years and it's one of the best spots in Seaport Village. I miss the days when they had full on sushi menu, but the revamped offerings are quite good, and they did keep the sashimi salad which I was always a fan of. I especially like the new bloody mary and the $1 oyster happy hour. The service is good in general; last time we visited, there appeared to be a little bit of miscommunication amongst the staff on what specials they were offering and what the discounted menu consisted of, but that was all sorted out with some patience. Recommend sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful bay views, or hanging out at the bar (seating always seems to be available there).

Mandy & Joel did an excellent job taking care of us for our dinner last night. Very attentive, friendly & with great suggestions. We recommend this place. The view is great, we stayed outside. Fresh food & well made. The only thing we didn't care for was the citrus salad, it was very plain, but the avocado jalopeno dressing was good.
Not only it was a very good experience, this place is also Pet friendly :)

Excellent meal and above average service! We had a party of 52 and the surf and turf was great. The wait staff took care of our every need. Very attentive to the details.

Was my first time there last weekend! The wait wasn't bad for one person. The millionaire bacon is a must try!!! It will have your mouth savoring with gray flavors!! The memosa is also delightful. Will definitely come back and with friends

Fresh, delicious buffet in two full rooms, offering made to order egg dishes, including specials like the Lobster Omelet. Fresh pastries, made just hours before, and super sweet staff. Our server was over the top nice, and we never had to ask for anything. They also catered to my children, which as any traveling parent knows is rare and welcomed.

Decent food but a bit pricey at $23 per person. I met some business colleagues for breakfast here. The standout feature is a made-to-order omelette bar. The restaurant also offers a wide array of other breakfast items buffet style including scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, Greek yogurt, oatmeal, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, deli meats, etc. Everything is of good quality and the selection is better than at your average breakfast buffet. I wouldn't seek this restaurant out (the food is good but unexceptional) but it is a convenient and acceptable choice if you're staying nearby.
