The hotel offers a great overall atmosphere, with a private inner bay and easy access to the beach. The environment is lovely, and there are plenty of recreational facilities on the property. That said, the room was a bit small, and there was an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning, which was disappointing for a hotel at this level.

Check in process was great. Staff was kind and accommodating. Studio room was very nice with a beautiful view of the bay. The only downfall was we attempted to dine at Dockside and never was greeted by a server so we left after about 10 minutes. Menu was limited as well. Other than this dining experience we highly recommend staying here.

Awesome staff, Andre at the front desk was on top of his game. When he found out, it was our anniversary he provided a credit to be used on my dinner at the hotel. Our room was awesome overlooking the bay harbor. I definitely will return there for my next San Diego visit.

Great, fun staff! Enjoyed the pool, bar, and Halloween cruise. Only negative was the smoke alarm low battery started alerting at 6:30AM. They came very quickly and changed it out. I got back to sleep within 15 mins.

Room was adequate. The bed sunk in the middle and toilet tank cover in bad condition. Gym was nice but temperature I too hot.  Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good

We stayed there one night and didn’t have blankets. It was raining and really cold. After we got to the room we realized there’s no blankets so I called reception and they told me I needed to go back and get some. Why didn’t they mentioned that to me when I checked in? SMH then the blankets we got were so old and not comfortable at all.

The vending machines were sold out especially water, fortunately there was a water dispenser at the front desk.

There is basically no service, no breakfast, convenient parking, and no response when I emailed to ask for a receipt.

The hotel is generally ok. The room and bathroom are old, but the place is clean. It is a three-story building with an elevator. The free Wi-Fi is not very useful. Parking is USD20 per night, which is quite expensive.

Overall, it's quite good, considering it's a fairly large motel resort. The only complaint is the thin flooring; whenever someone walks past, the ground shakes. The cleaning truck rumbles like thunder. The soundproofing is poor, and you can hear everything you hear from the outside. It's in a great location on a leisure and vacation island with hundreds of yachts nearby. The scenery is fantastic, and it's convenient for walking and jogging. However, the room was a bit old and had a slight musty smell, so it needed to be ventilated for a while. Fortunately, there were doors and windows at the front and back, so ventilation was smooth.

It is a 3 star hotel and that’s what you get. The room is adequate but it’s quite bare for what you are paying. Affordable stay with a great location near the airport and with convenient access to major roadways. We were upgraded to the renovated rooms. They were decent and the beds were comfortable. If youd prefer to spend your money exploring San Diego rather than paying more for a room I highly recommend.

The rooms are kinda old and the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything! But they do have a quiet side with signs up. It only helps if you have quiet neighbors though. You can get your parking validated at the front desk. Location is great.

Located at convoy so good for food, has wide parking spaces but might run out on busy days if u return late, pretty good room but doesn’t clean your room until you checkout so keep that in mind, 15-20 minute drive to downtown, overall hotel I would recommend.

The hotel was very nice and clean and great value for the money. It just sits in a strange pocket of an area that is sketch. The hotel next door attracts a seedy crowd and there are many vagrants hanging around. However, once you got to main road the area was fine and very close to everything. I did enjoy my stay and would stay here again.

The guest services were not my issue. But the bathroom floor was not very clean, and the bed sizes are a joke. Brittany and Stephanie were great though. The location of the hotel is very convenient on Broadway. The hotel rooms are served 24 hours a day, and there are free fruits including oranges and apples at the front desk. It's too late. I stayed at this hotel because of its low price, and I thought it was a good value for money. It's a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop, but the front desk staff were very helpful, and it's located in Little Italy, so it's safe to get around.

The hotel is OK. The location is very good if you want to be close to Old Town, and it is also convenient to Ocean Beach and the rest of Point Loma. My only complaint is parking. There isn't enough surface parking. If you park overnight in their garage, you will be charged $30. That's probably mentioned somewhere during check in, but I didn't catch it.

Family fun I can't say enough about this place. Everything is brand new. Super clean, Eco-friendly rooms and the staff was superb. The Handlery Hotel stay was great. Rooms were clean and the pool area was open even with the Rain on new year’s 2026. We got food and drinks from their pool area bar at a good price, the food was great. It’s a little outdated and it could use some upgrades or amenities added, but it had the San Diego look. I tried canceling my room because my daughter's plan changed. She was going into bootcamp and having a hard time. I understand their cancellation policy I just thought they would take into consideration the reason as to why I had to cancel. If not a full refund maybe a partial.

There is no elevator, so it is difficult to carry large luggage up to the second floor, but being able to do laundry is a great thing during a long trip. The bar is small but has drinks and food, and being able to eat by the pool was very convenient.

It is really near the Downtown Portland Nordstrom . It is a great hotel. If you are a business traveler to shop at the Anniversary Sale. You don't have to travel to Seattle. But the Portland Downtown Nordstrom store is a 5. But the Fashion Valley is a 11-11. This is on a ten point scale. 1 is the worst. A perfect 10 is good for the next three years only . TFT.

I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one. I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel.
