It was nice location close to little Italy and the harbor room was clean and nice staff
We stayed there one night and didn’t have blankets. It was raining and really cold. After we got to the room we realized there’s no blankets so I called reception and they told me I needed to go back and get some. Why didn’t they mentioned that to me when I checked in? SMH then the blankets we got were so old and not comfortable at all.
Great stay, value price and close to everything we needed. We will stay again.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱. I stayed there for 2 weeks, working from home during the day, going out at night. Pros:
- excellent value for the comfort and amenities at under $65/night
- great desk & comfortable chair for laptop work
- nice modern Philips large-screen TV you can connect to via HDMI
- the Internet was ok (~10Mbps) but disconnected daily (reconnecting the WiFi restored it...

San Diego, 998 W Mission Bay Dr (10 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel offers a great overall atmosphere, with a private inner bay and easy access to the beach. The environment is lovely, and there are plenty of recreational facilities on the property. That said, the room was a bit small, and there was an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning, which was disappointing for a hotel at this level.
Room is very clean and comfortable. The staff at check in were very nice and helpful
Check in process was great. Staff was kind and accommodating. Studio room was very nice with a beautiful view of the bay. The only downfall was we attempted to dine at Dockside and never was greeted by a server so we left after about 10 minutes. Menu was limited as well. Other than this dining experience we highly recommend staying here.
Awesome staff, Andre at the front desk was on top of his game. When he found out, it was our anniversary he provided a credit to be used on my dinner at the hotel. Our room was awesome overlooking the bay harbor. I definitely will return there for my next San Diego visit.
$$50 resort fee but nothing but a pool and hot tub. Not worth paying additional $110 for two night's!!!
Great, fun staff! Enjoyed the pool, bar, and Halloween cruise. Only negative was the smoke alarm low battery started alerting at 6:30AM. They came very quickly and changed it out. I got back to sleep within 15 mins.

Room was adequate. The bed sunk in the middle and toilet tank cover in bad condition. Gym was nice but temperature I too hot. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good
The room was clean, the mattress and pillows were a bit soft.
Over all the stay was pleasant! Only the 30$ parking fee for one night seems a bit over priced. Most hotels I stayed previously were free parking for their customers.
It was a nice, quiet, clean place to stay. However, it's been two weeks since I returned from my trip, and my deposit has not been refunded yet. I asked for a receipt and they said they would send it to me by email, but I haven't received it either. I'm a little disappointed with their handling.
good location and good service.

Affordable stay with a great location near the airport and with convenient access to major roadways. We were upgraded to the renovated rooms. They were decent and the beds were comfortable. If youd prefer to spend your money exploring San Diego rather than paying more for a room I highly recommend.
Amazing hotel loved the stay. The entire staff was super friendly and accommodating from the shuttle guy, front desk, housekeepers and bartender. Lovely pool spa area and nice gym. Great rooms and location is less than 10 minute drive to airport. Great hotel bar with lots of TVs and good drinks menu. The cookie and water was tasty. No complaints would def stay here again

The room was freezing cold and I put the heater on , but it only got colder. Had to wait for maintenance to come fix it . We wasted time waiting for that . The rooms were dirty, like the bathrooms had pubic hair in it , weren’t even wiped down , so I had to go to the cvs to get cleaning supplies . The heater was so loud I couldn’t hear the tv , and the place smelled moldy and had construction goin...
I guess it depends if you are in the main building or the outer buildings. Was a bit shocked when we had to walk outside to our rooms. Great location and free shuttle to the airport. Shout out to George L (Front office manager) to give me a warm welcome. If you manage your expectations then you won't be disappointed if you get the rooms that is not in the main building.
Had my wedding reception here and it was absolutely perfect. Huge shoutout to Amanda and her team for all their help putting everything together. Amanda was always there to answer any questions I had, and the whole process went so smoothly.
I also stayed in one of the suites for the rest of my wedding trip, and everything was so clean and perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for any event or even...

The vending machines were sold out especially water, fortunately there was a water dispenser at the front desk.
There is basically no service, no breakfast, convenient parking, and no response when I emailed to ask for a receipt.
The hotel is generally ok. The room and bathroom are old, but the place is clean. It is a three-story building with an elevator. The free Wi-Fi is not very useful. Parking is USD20 per night, which is quite expensive.
Overall, it's quite good, considering it's a fairly large motel resort. The only complaint is the thin flooring; whenever someone walks past, the ground shakes. The cleaning truck rumbles like thunder. The soundproofing is poor, and you can hear everything you hear from the outside. If you plan to stay out later, be sure to put a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, otherwise the cleaning staff will...
Pros:
For those who don't drive, the location is convenient. You can walk to Fashion Valley to buy things. There are restaurants near the hotel. There is a small swimming pool and bubble bath, and you can also do laundry.
The room is large and feels quite spacious. Basic microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, and small soap are provided.
The quality of the bedding is OK, and it is more comfortable...

Very clean suite with kitchen, and all necessary appliances. Front desk is very nice and helpful. Garage entrance is a bit tight, just need to go slow. Highly recommended for family staying
The Hotel room is very comfortable and clean. Very convenient location to downtown area. They provide excellent services. Highly recommended.
The location of the place was very accessible and convenient.
Very nice room, with microwave, refrigerator, bar, sofa can put a 1.5 bed very comfortable, can accommodate up to 6 people. Our family of 5 lived very happily. There is a CVS store about 300 meters downstairs and a 7-11 a little further. Girls should not go out alone at night, there are messy people on the street.
The location is good and the staff is friendly. The surrounding area is clean and quiet, so I highly recommend it.
The room is big, generally clean, the service is good and very welcoming. It is mainly white people staying here, and other guests are also very friendly. This is a hotel like an airbnb homestay. The room has everything, plates, bowls, cutlery, microwave, scrub daddy's dishwashing tools, detergent, dishwasher, coffee machine and Starbucks coffee, etc. It is very cost-effective.

Great view, good food at Blue restaurant. Having amenities.
Excellent location, with a sea view right from the window, and the service was warm and welcoming.
It's in a great location on a leisure and vacation island with hundreds of yachts nearby. The scenery is fantastic, and it's convenient for walking and jogging. However, the room was a bit old and had a slight musty smell, so it needed to be ventilated for a while. Fortunately, there were doors and windows at the front and back, so ventilation was smooth.
It is a 3 star hotel and that’s what you get. The room is adequate but it’s quite bare for what you are paying. Body wash had run out, there was no toothbrush or slippers, lights were quite dim, the fan didn’t work. The room shows its age. Nevertheless, it is in a very scenic location. You’ll need to rent a car to take full advantage
The hotel is very big, and it takes some walking distance from the lobby to where you stay. The facilities are generally old, but it is still quiet.
I went to San Diego on a business trip and found a small hotel like a motel. A very bad experience was that the parking lot was right in front of the room... There were noises as I walked by, and the hotel check-in was slow. Although the room is old, it is clean. What I don't understand is that there is no mineral water in the room. Pretty good hotel near the airport. Can hear some noise as the walls and doors are not very noise proof.

The hotel was very nice and clean and great value for the money. It just sits in a strange pocket of an area that is sketch. The hotel next door attracts a seedy crowd and there are many vagrants hanging around. However, once you got to main road the area was fine and very close to everything. I did enjoy my stay and would stay here again.
The guest services were not my issue. But the bathroom floor was not very clean, and the bed sizes are a joke. Brittany and Stephanie were great though. They were polite and were doing the best to provide our accommodations. This hotel's idea of a king size bed is actually a queen, and their queen is actually a full size bed - Just so you know what you're getting. We don't see ourselves staying here...
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was a very nice hotel. Good amenities and it all felt very nice. But the trouble was the location. It’s in a very ghetto area, with several strip clubs not even a block away and most of the room’s view could be taken up by ads for weed stores. Has to pay $20/day for parking and the front desk even recommended we didn’t seek out free parking...
Started overnight for two nights. First night came in late but had previously spoken with the front desk about coming late at night. It was for a buffet which had a decent standard hotel breakfast. Both rooms we stayed in were clean an tidy. We had...
Always great here. Friendly and efficient staff, quiet hotel, nice pillows. Good free coffee in the morning. Better than higher end hotels in Starwood without being fancy or expensive. Perfect alternative to downtown hotels. Short ride to business district
We stayed a week and enjoyed our stay. The location is a bit shady and paying for parking is something I've never heard of before so I gave it a 4 star. It is central to everything we wanted to see and do so that was a great for us.

The location is excellent, very close to the train station and bus station. They also offer parking vouchers (they asked me, but I didn't drive and didn't ask for one, so I don't know what they look like). There's a highly-rated and very good salad shop nearby.
I stayed for four nights to watch a Padres game. The room quality and service were excellent and well worth the price.
On the second night, the neighboring room was extremely noisy past midnight. I called the front desk, and they promptly addressed the issue, restoring peace. I truly appreciate their quick response.

Good location. Friendly staff.
We stayed here in Sept 2025. The hotel staff service was great; they even called our room shortly after our arrival to ensure the room was acceptable.
The room and property layout was one of the most unique I have ever stayed in. The room had unique furniture, very comfortable beds, and out our door was a beautiful view of the city. While you need to orient yourself to the multi-level property, I...
Overall this hotel is fine. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are spacious and the view is gorgeous. However the hotel is really old and you can tell by the amenities. Some of the furniture are really old and need to be replaced. Therefore if you are into modern, this is not yours. Last thing the door keys have issues. During my stay of 4 days, I had to request new keys at least 6times because...
It was huge! There were so many buildings that were a part of the hotel, it was cool! The restaurant attached was good. The hotel is apparently undergoing a new make over, a bit noisy and requires more improvement on the cleanliness. Got bitten by bed bugs.
The best hotel so close to everything💕
I stayed at this hotel because of its low price, and I thought it was a good value for money. It's a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop, but the front desk staff were very helpful, and it's located in Little Italy, so it's safe to get around.
The front desk staff were very helpful. They explained things to me using their own translator.
The room was very clean. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and it's just a 15-minute walk to the aircraft carrier.

Overall, a decent stay especially since i was only here 1 day because I came to watch Rosalia in concert. The staff was super nice and friendly, but what was off putting was coming to the room and not having any channel access. It was strange and I didn't flag it since I really came just to sleep after the concert and then head home.
My stay at Courtyard by Marriott San Diego was overall pleasant, largely due to the accommodating and friendly staff.
We initially requested a room change due to a cracked window and an unusual odor in the original room. The front desk handled the request promptly and without issue, and the new room was much more comfortable. The rest of our stay was smooth and enjoyable.
This hotel is 100% made by the staff (and location). I have been staying here since I was in college and continue to come back for the walkability to the bars/restaurants of old town but even more so the excellent service. The front desk, restaurant, etc all have this super positive and attentive spirit rarely seen these days. It’s apparent that the hotel management knows what they’re doing to create...
Hotel room had a decent sized TV. Two queen bedroom was the one we got. The room is spacious and there's good amenities like the pool. I liked the light up mirror in the bathroom and the giant mirror in the room if you are getting ready for an event. The shower was not high pressure but it was okay. Just a normal standard shower pressure I would say.
Had a nice stay overall. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The location is very convenient, with easy access from the Old Town transit station, so there was no need to rent a car to get around.
The hotel itself is a bit older, but it was comfortable and well maintained. A solid choice if you want a practical base with great transit access.

Parking is secured, rooms are clean & spacious, easy check in and check out (they sell timeshare). Only negative is you have to pay for wifi.
This was a nice property and the staff is friendly; however, the parking garage is really compact and tough to maneuver if you don't have a small car. good with the price and no resource fee and free parking!!
The room was clean and tidy, the location was great, the bed was comfortable, and the space was spacious. The hotel service was also excellent; they provided plenty of advance notifications before check-in. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
Entrance to hotel is tricky. Balcony Courtyard view is nice. Room is clean safe and decen. However check in took way too long. Should be more efficient and smooth. Give the pple the key and info they need and move on to the next customer. Maximize the time and less is more in sharing some times..
Great value for money, especially for self-driving tourists! The hotel's facilities and decor are five-star quality, and the service is excellent, all at a very affordable price.
Overall, the hotel experience was good, though the location isn't ideal, making dining and transportation a bit inconvenient. The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was decent, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk service was professional and efficient. For its category, it offers good value for money, making it suitable for business or short trips.
This is a very old hotel, more like a motel.
Our room had direct access to the public parking lot downstairs, which made us feel unsafe.
If you have luggage, I wouldn't recommend booking here; you'll have to drag your suitcase outside for a long time to get to the elevator.
The breakfast was pretty good.

A very beautiful hotel, it looks like it has a long history.

I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one. I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel.
It is a great hotel with rich heritage, highly recommended
Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. Very poor cleaning, the room is frankly dirty. Dirty carpet. The hair dryer in the room did not work - they brought a replacement from another room, but when I took the hair dryer out of the bag, it was all dirty with other people's hair and very dirty. Room is nice but too small. Great rooftop. 13 dollars for a bottle of water and 60 dollars for the parking are really too expensive.
Great location and clean property. However, housekeeping required multiple reminders and service was minimal—bed was made but sheets were never changed during my 5-night stay, and the robe was not replaced. The minibar fridge was fully stocked with hotel items, leaving no room for personal use. Storage for luggage was limited. The retro elevator adds charm, but the heavy manual door and gate make it...
During my trip to San Diego, I booked a hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter (established in 1913) on Ctrip. The old elevator is quite unique. The rooms aren't big, but the cleanliness and amenities are okay, and it's not noisy. We stayed on the 11th floor, the highest floor, and the rooftop terrace offers a great view of the city!
The transportation in the downtown area is quite convenient. The train is a few minutes' walk away. The hotel's old-fashioned elevator is antique-grade. The refrigerator is full and there is no room for anything.
This hotel has a unique elevator. It's historic, but the doors are too heavy. The speed is unavoidable.
There's no kettle in the room, so it's difficult to get hot water.
The convention center is about a 15-minute walk away.

The amenities were Diptique and perfect.
The rooftop view overlooks downtown.

Everything was great. Excelent location and attention from the staff.
Staff was great BUT Property definitely not what the pictures show. No amenities AT ALL. Be ready to pay 42 dlrs a night in parking, no breakfast options, you even have to pay for water since they dont provide you with any. They don't do room service so good luck with the 2 towels you get and emptying out your own trash cans.
At this point its just a fancier Motel rather than a hotel.
It feels like it's been too long. Parking is $42 per day. No water.
[Pros]
It's close to many of San Diego's major tourist attractions. It's also close to train stations (trolley and Amtrak) and bus stops, so transportation is easy. A supermarket (Ralphs) is also within a 5-minute walk, and since it's cheaper than other options, I recommend buying water and other items there.
The hotel lobby wasn't that great, but the rooms were quite stylish and better than expected...
