American Inn of Daytona in Daytona Beach

I stayed here for a few weeks and will give it to you straight up. Rooms are absolutely disgusting, I have never been anywhere with more roaches. Used to keep the bathroom light on all night to try to keep them at bay. Spent probably $100 on varying poisons and traps. Used a few rolls of duct tape to try to seal the walls so they couldn't get in. They were still everywhere. Furniture and curtains were filled with burn marks from former drug use. Would bleach everything so it would look clean, then run a paper towel over it and it would come back black. Bed was comfortable, ac worked good most of the time, shower was hot, was given toilet paper every time I made a payment. Couldnt cook as roaches ran around in the microwave. The guy running it is nice enough and will work with you more than most people. Is as pet friendly as they come, no up charges, but nobody picks up after their pets. Definitely an option when at the bottom of the barrel. He will offer work if you have skills, but manages pennies on the dollar when you are out of options. Several hours of push mowing for $30, $1000 pressure washing job for $100 bucks, but that ones on me for saying yes while desperately trying to stay housed. If you pay your rent on time, not bad people. Everything is in the same boat there so the neighbors seem sketchy, but are as friendly as can be if you introduce yourself. All in all, an option when completely out of options. , just don't fall behind or your bill explodes because of 'late fees'

Room had bed bugs and roaches like crazy... Would not recommend or ever go back there.

This place is disgusting between bed bugs and cockroaches everywhere. The hotel manager is a creep and always trying to screw all the tenants. Overpriced and dirty. Dog poop everywhere and kids have garbage all over the place. I even watched some crazy lady screaming at everyone in her way. Definitely do not recommend!!!

The entire property was in very poor condition.

Stayed here last night. Rooms are small bedding is clean but stained. Run down condition throughout. There was good hot water. I would never stay here again.

This place is not for the germaphobe for sure! As soon as we entered the room we were concerned. It was dark outside and pitch black in the room except that the TV was on. My first concern was that we were in an already room! We turned the lights on and called out, nobody there. The rug looked generally in need of a good shampooing. I didn't see any spots or stains on the bedding. The bathroom had been partially remodeled, new tile around the tub but the rest was straight out of the 50's. Towel bars had been ripped off the wall and the holes 'patched'. No trash can in the bathroom and mold all over the bathroom wall and ceiling. Now that really scared me! The ac unit was so loud we had to blast the tv to hear anything. It was too late to book another hotel and there really wasn't anything available due to a special event in town. If we hadn't been so totally exhausted we would have driven to another city. We left as soon as we woke up the next morning, no lingering around this place.

Had to fix door, i had to get under bed to plug in lights, no bottled water any where. No toilet paper on holder had to put on myself. The only trash was by out side door none in or by bathroom. Woman at desk very nice.
