Fountain Cottages Inn in Fort Myers

Place was a wreck ,cockroaches.spider and mold .the sheets were dirty and bathroom was dirty .Just a real dump that rips people off.they go though youre rooms when u are gone

After researching this place online and visiting the website, I had a very good impression of this property and was excited for my stay. I was disappointed immediately at check in with the room (9) . It felt very basic, just a room to sleep. Bare walls ( looks like art had been previously there but removed) , no soap, no iron, no hair dryer, walls needed a scrub as there were dried up gnats on the wall near the A/C unit which was also in need of new filter or at the very least cleaning the filter to remove the dust build up from daily use , and the unit which held the microwave and fridge clearly had water damage. I wasn't expecting luxury whatsoever, but basic room amenities would have been appreciated. Also the light outside the room needed a bulb change as I was left in the dark getting into the room on my own in the evening. Its tolerable if your just looking for a place to sleep and shower, except room # 9 is on the side close to the highway... you'll hear the traffic zooming by for sure. The impression I got from the website was that of a cute , cozy place to enjoy a few nights and visit Ft. Myers Beach and Sanibel/ Captiva ... the room I stayed in failed to match that. Furthermore ,the female at the front desk was unwilling to take anything off the total to compensate for the inconveniences which was disappointing considering the industry is hospitality and its a family owned establishment.:)
