Anchor Inn and Cottages in Sanibel

Wow! 5 stats! Convenient location. Large clean room with comfy king size bed. Table chairs mini fridge microwave, attentive friendly staff. Thanks for great post Hurricane Irma stay. Great rate. Traveled solo.

Anchor Inn and Cottages is exactly as it is described and pictured. It is a budget "motel" which means there aren't any frills or luxurious linens, but what you do get is a clean convenient space to lay your head after a day at the beach. We stayed in the standard room which consists of one room with a king sized bed, small table, small fridge and microwave, and bathroom. Which was fine for our needs. The fresh towels we requested daily always smelled freshly laundered and clean.

The only suggestions/criticisms I would offer is to have an area outside to wash off the beach sand before guests enter their room or cottage. And, I have to say the shower is way too tiny!

Overall, I would recommend Anchor Inn if you are on a budget and looking for clean accommodations to lodge in while enjoying Sanibel. All of the staff I encountered were really friendly and extremely accommodating - which is a huge plus!

After living my whole life just a hr away from Sanibel we decided to see what it was all about for my wife’s birthday. Decided to stay at Anchor Inn because they were pet friendly and seemed to have old Florida feel. We couldn’t be more happy with our decision. Ro the manger went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. She put flowers out and a card for my wife and a goodie basket for our dog. The place was very clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend checking out the island and stay here.

Super friendly. Great place to stay near the beaches and on the strip. Their motto above their check in desk says, "Come as strangers, leave as friends." I believe they live up to that.
This isn't a Ritz-Carlton for people who come to be pampered in a luxury hotel. This is a great place to put your stuff down so you can go to the beach. They have a nice pool and are stocked up with what you need for a relaxing at the beach (beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas) that they will loan you. So you don't need to waste packing space.

The customer service was fabulous!! So caring and always available. We stayed in the A-frame cottage and it was perfect for our family of 5 but we did rent an inflatable mattress and didn’t use the pull out. The bathroom shower drain clogged but didn’t bother us. The window air conditioners did the job but back bedroom one was a little loud. Pool was wonderful, all furniture outside and in was great!! All the amenities made the trip a wonderful time!
