Anchor Inn and Cottages in Sanibel

Had a great stay at the anchor inn! We got stranded in Florida for a few days due to the storms in the northeast and called anchor inn for a last minute booking, they were so friendly and helpful. We were so pleased when we checked in to see how cute and clean our A frame cottage was. The amenities were great, the location is great, everything was in great condition. Very happy with our experience!

My only tip is for women with long hair to bring their own toiletries, the shampoo is a 2-in-1 and detangling beach hair is no easy feat!

Visited for a long weekend and this was the perfect choice. Amenities such as bikes, chairs, and shell cleaning station was very helpful. Super simple check in and check out process as well. We loved how comfy the bed was, the AC worked great to get out of the heat, and even had a small pond out back where you could watch the birds and gator from your room!

Wow! We were so pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this fully rehabbed old Florida Inn is. The exterior has the charming 1950s roadside inn appeal. The rooms are fully refurbished with high end furnishings and details. There is a small cooktop, mini fridge and freezer (retro looking), a few plates and glasses, and cutlery. A knife would have been nice to cut limes for beer, but we made do. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C was cold. The free bikes, helmets, and beach chairs are a wonderful touch. The pool area, while small, was nicely appointed with plenty of seating. The shell washing station and hammocks were also cute! There is a convenience store and liquor store a block away. We will definitely return.

Anchor Inn is a wonderful choice on Sanibel, especially after the recent renovations. The rooms are fresh, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, blending modern comfort with genuine island charm. Everything feels clean, bright, and well put together, making it easy to relax from the moment you arrive.

The overall atmosphere is welcoming and laid-back, and the staff truly stand out—friendly and helpful throughout the stay. A great bonus is the free bike rentals, which make it easy and fun to explore the island at your own pace and really enjoy the Sanibel lifestyle.

The location right next to Periwinkle Road is convenient for getting around the island. While there can be some traffic noise at times, it was never a real issue and didn’t take away from the quality of the stay.

All in all, Anchor Inn delivers comfort, charm, and excellent service, and is an easy place to recommend for a relaxing Sanibel getaway.

We just stayed here and we would definitely recommend staying here. The rooms have all been redone since the hurricane and they are beautiful. The decor is perfect and the beds are so comfortable. Everything was spotless and it’s in a good location. We will definitely stay again. It is also reasonably priced for the island. Beautiful place and great staff!

Anchor Inn and Cottages is exactly as it is described and pictured. It is a budget "motel" which means there aren't any frills or luxurious linens, but what you do get is a clean convenient space to lay your head after a day at the beach. We stayed in the standard room which consists of one room with a king sized bed, small table, small fridge and microwave, and bathroom. Which was fine for our needs. The fresh towels we requested daily always smelled freshly laundered and clean.

The only suggestions/criticisms I would offer is to have an area outside to wash off the beach sand before guests enter their room or cottage. And, I have to say the shower is way too tiny!

Overall, I would recommend Anchor Inn if you are on a budget and looking for clean accommodations to lodge in while enjoying Sanibel. All of the staff I encountered were really friendly and extremely accommodating - which is a huge plus!

After living my whole life just a hr away from Sanibel we decided to see what it was all about for my wife’s birthday. Decided to stay at Anchor Inn because they were pet friendly and seemed to have old Florida feel. We couldn’t be more happy with our decision. Ro the manger went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. She put flowers out and a card for my wife and a goodie basket for our dog. The place was very clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend checking out the island and stay here.
