The Mt. Vernon Inn in Baltimore

Let's be honest. The reason you're looking at this hotel in the first place is probably because you searched for hotels in Baltimore and then sorted by price. You absolutely get what you pay for here. The building is rundown and smelly. There were cigarette burns on the bed and stains all over the carpet. The towels were old and threadbare and were beyond the point where you would demote them to cleaning up oil spills in your garage. The staff seemed friendly though which is why I give them 2 stars instead of one.

The people who service the desk have bad attitudes and are rude to the guests. How do you pay for something and NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED...when you come to a poorly ran place like this your wont ever totally feel comfortable in sound mind here. They will steal from you.

Room didn't look good. Holes in bathroom, $5 deposit for remote control for Tv. Never heard that before. No guest allowed. Didn't see heat control even though room was heated.

I saw the rooms and I didn't even ask for a refund, I just asked to switch rooms and they claimed they didn't have any (yeah,🤬 right). I don't give away free money, so basically I stayed in a clean, but unsatisfactory room. The sheets were stained and burned, the walls were trifling, it was just nasty. I don't understand why after getting complaints for over 2 years, they would still have problems. It's ridiculous.

This place is beyond disgusting. We had our original hotel reservation cancelled on us 5 days before our trip. Hubby picked something on the fly. Oh my…… No smoking signs everywhere but the smell of smoke is overwhelming. I ended up running to a store to grab an air freshener… it kinda helped. There is no way that this building is up to any type of code. The bedding was so nasty, torn, cigarette holes, ect. We ended up going to Marshalls and purchasing our own bedding. There is mold on the walls. Exposed outlets. Holes in the ceiling that are plugged up with dirt rags… if you are coming out of a homeless situation this will do. Anyone else. AVOID.
