I stayed in the Phoenix Hotel with my daughter and sister. The facilities in the hotel are really excellent and easy to walk from Union station. However, i found out that on the first day i came into the room,there was a lot of dust on the floor and small pieces of snacks. Moreover, during our stay we had to contact the staff at the front desk, some staff made me feel really upset about services. One night,my sister went to ask the staff about how to open the laundry room , there were 2 staff members on duty and one of them said that if you could not open it meant it closed, and then he turned to laugh with another lady staff on the counter. We are Asian people, many many times that the staff in this hotel made us feel like they were looking down on Asian people and tried to make fun of us. That made us feel really bad about that. But there were not all staff that treated us bad like that,there were still good and service minded staff in hotels such as the doorman and the staff on the last day we checked out.

Excellent hotel, convenient location, very clean and good service. Just lacking a simple breakfast offering to go with their very good coffee lounge facilities.

Good location if visiting the museums around national mall. The room is small, the bathroom is small too. It is an older building, but quite well maintained. Many reviews commented on the cleanliness so I set my expectation high, but I personally think they could do better. We had a nice stay, but next time we are visiting DC I may look for another place.

Like the hotel which offers various types of beverages at 2nd floor and free self laundry 24/7. The Dubliner cafe at the hotel offered welcome drink, which we used it when having breakfast there. The food was good and the prices were reasonable.

I booked a superior queen room, but they gave me very small one. The room is so tiny that I won't be able to open my luggage if i had one. Fortunately we only had carry on luggage. The window is very tiny cutting corner of the room making it a narrow gap between the bed and the window. The corner of the bed hurt my leg a few times when I passed in and out . There are full of dirty marks on the small table. To my surprise, when checking in, the receptionist told me I have to pay US$32 extra for the facilities. I didn't understand what she meant. Then she gave me a card to read. And said it's on their website. This is a rip off. I never knew I would have to pay extra US$32. . Such a thing had never happened to me before.

Very close to Union Station. Also very clean. So the hotel is an excellent choice for people that need to catch an early train out of town.

DO NOT buy anything at Sbarros! Their credit card swiper has been taken over by hackers and their chip reader is taped over for NO reason! Thanks to USAA i was advised of fraudulent activity and my card was frozen. Unless they fix their chip-reader, i recommend dont buy there!!!!

I paid for three slices by getting a whole pie. Something I've always thought of doing but it's quite tasty, unfortunately at the last part of the evening which is a mixed variety though it's quite tasty.

I can't believe she gave me a tap water and she explained me that sometimes it turned yellow. The Hispanic lady with a glasses said that's where they get the free water where they wash their hands etc. I was like wow. No filtered free water after I bought a Hawaiian pizza?! Well I just want to let everybody know that if you ever ask for a free water you gotta make sure that they will not gonna get the drinking water from the dirty tap water. Shame on this lady.. she's proud how she explained how dirty it is!
