Chestnut Hill Hotel in Philadelphia

Beautiful hotel in a great area- walk to restaurants, coffee, shops. Friendly staff and good amenities. Free self-parking

The Chestnut Inn is a historic hotel in an interesting area with quirky shops to explore, great architecture and a variety of restaurants in easy walking distance. We stayed in the Carriage House section of the hotel, which is a different building from the main part of the hotel. Our room had a gas-lit fireplace across from the bed, an enormous television, a clawfoot tub and a shower. The closet had a light that turned on when you opened the door. Inside our closet we found a cozy bathrobe; a large, umbrella and a flashlight. Thoughtful touches!

I was less than thrilled with the breakfast offerings because they were all sweet (pastries). I prefer cheese, tomatoes, onions, etc.

Be aware that the hotel does not have a dedicated parking area. Rather, the hotel shares a large parking lot with a restaurant, the Chestnut Hill Tap Room, and Market building full of small, interesting, food vendors.

The market building was quite busy all day Saturday and the vibe was young, friendly and fun with a big outdoor fire pit and people gathering to enjoy food with friends. The downside is that you may have to park on the street if you arrive during the busiest part of the day.

There is one electric car charger in parking lot. It was a "Green Spot" level 1 charger so it took hours for my car to charge fully --- but, since we were going to be eating and sleeping nearby, that was pretty darn convenient!

All staff members with whom I spoke were friendly and helpful.

Beautifully renovated old hotel, with lots of little touches: Nespresso machine in room, bathrobe, umbrella, magnifying shaving/makeup mirror. Very good bed. This is my go-to when I’m visiting in the Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia!

We liked the blend of “old and new” , it created a lovely ambiance reflecting the history of the hotel and the neighboring area while still providing us with all necessary modern facilities. The close proximity of Chestnut Hill Brewing Company and the market together with the hotel restaurant Angelina’s allowed us enjoy different dining options all of which were very pleasant
Our experience was made all the more enjoyable by the hotel staff in every area who were very affable and helpful and clearly enjoyed their job
We would be very happy to return again

Beautiful, Clean, Comfy
Perfect spot to stay while visiting some family in the Mt. Airy neighborhood! Easy parking, easy check in & check out, clean, comfortable room, comfy bed. Beautiful bathroom. Didn't care for the breakfast options though I think they're pretty standard and the dining room was beautiful. This will be my go-to spot when visiting this area of Philly from now on!

The Chestnut Hill Hotel is a rare gem nestled in a quaint area with restaurants and places of interests within walking distance.

We were plesantly surprised with this establishment and our accommodations.

Excellent Atmosphere. Very plesent staff. Michell is the best. Room was a bit tight. Between 9-11, no place to eat nearby. But absolutely the neighborhood.

Nice, cozy hotel in the heart of Chestnut Hill
Stayed here on a trip to drop our son off at college. It was such a relief after driving all day to have parking, polite, professional staff, and a quiet, well appointed room. Plus great restaurant choices just a few feet away. Everyone was super nice.

Great place to stay!! Very accommodating and everything you need in one spot. Restaurants right on site. Clean, cozy and beautiful grounds.
