I walked in the door and was immediately smacked with a chemical odor that was worse in my room.
We had to leave immediately.
Maybe it was a one off for the O'Brien, but i wont be back.
The woman at the desk was nice and sympathetic.

The facilities are dated! The staff is polite but there are better hotels for the same price!

As soon as you walked in the room it smelled of urine, there were white stains on the atoman, black stains on the sheets, night stand had smudges and fingerprints all over it and there was soda cups full of soda left in the common area for a full day. This place looked nothing like the pictures advertised. It looked extremely run down with several real bad patch attempts on the walls. I'm very disappointed and will most definitely never be returning. The only good things about this place were its location to the river walk and the young lady at the counter who has barely started working there a few days ago but is doing a great job!

Room was clean but did not have hand soap in despisers only had decaf coffee. Coffee down stairs looked like black syrup and asked for creamer but was told they had none been there before and had the same issue

Temp controls were awesome. Location is fabulous to River Walk and Hemisfair and the Alamo. So beautiful felt very Bougie even though the price was not! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful!

Handicap people BEWARE!

Although it was a handicap room the access was not great. First the shower had no railings and access issues. Then hot water only got slightly warm after we went down to discuss it with the front desk because the phone did not work at all. The hot water only got slightly warm if you turned on the cold water at the sink and let it run for nearly10 min and left it running as you showered in lukewarm water. So, trust me, it was not an eco-friendly establishment. So much wasted water.

The room was acceptable although the beds seemed to me as old as the building. Trust me, I think camping in my van at the side of the road would have been better than this!

Rooms are adequate. We had a two queen room, and there was no room to move in there. Bed was cheap and uncomfortable. Our room was very run down. But the price for that area and the location could not be beat.

The hotel was cute and full of characters. We love the friendly staff. It was literally walking distance from riverwalk, la villita area. Parking was next to the hotel, easy access but do call ahead during holiday seasons because the garage is public parking. The hotel was not very well sound proofed and they do not offer breakfast, only light snacks and bottled beverages. It is a cashless hotel, but you must tip housekeeping cash, they will not let you leave them tips on your credit card.

Balcony? Facing the employees parking lot? Smells bad, the bedroom has an electrical hazard, deceiving description of the hotel and surrounding area…this is not at all what it’s described on the web site…please do yourselves a favor, go to another hotel

The street tacos were tasty. The location on the river walk is good. The outside seating is on a crowded walkway, but the view of the river is good. Lots of lighted trees for Christmas. Food delivery was too fast. We barely got our drinks when the main meal showed up. I know they depend on quick turnover, but this was ridiculous.

Service was okay, no where near the best service ever. Waiter could have been less invisible, and quicker about his tasks. Food came out very quickly. I ordered the 2 chicken soft tacos, and was highly disappointed. Not only was the food so unbelievably bland, my tacos were pure water. Queso was so good, even tried putting it on my tacos and all I tasted was water. Manager was very polite and helpful. But, even my fixed plate wasn’t that good. Still for the most part flavorless. My rating is based mainly on the food, and partially the service of our waiter.

Food wasn’t the best. Servers that greet customers should probably stay off their phones and acknowledge customers. My wife and I were asking about sitting outside and they just looked at us with no response. Until finally I asked “...so can we sit outside?” And the hosts just simply replies “yep” and point to a table.

Other than that, they have a great view!

Not the best Mexican food I've ever had (I have high standards), but it was still good. The tortilla chips were clearly fresh (and free), which is a big deal for me. The enchiladas were also good. The strawberry margarita had strawberry puree in it, which was a little bit above and beyond the norm for margaritas. Server was friendly. It was a long wait to get seated on a Saturday night (40 minutes) for a small party, but I did get to sit right next to the river.

While on vacation we try to not repeat a restaurant..this one we repeatedly visited. Sooooo good. The street tacos were the only exception, good, but not worth twice. Everything else is worth eating every day. Very affordable. Margarita was good, we got the basic margarita, not top shelf.
Chips and salsa are free..many places here are not free chips and salsa. The salsa is fantastic and fresh. Didn't have the 'chain restaurant' feel or taste as the salsa had the slightest change of taste in batches.
Planning to come back to San Antonio at least once a year or 2 and will frequently come here as it's a guarantee of good food.

Our server scarlet was great, but the nachos we're soggy and the four of us only had 2 chips with poorly cooked hamburger meat for almost $12! Not happy. Too expensive for fast food quality.

Came here for a beer on a Saturday night. The place was bumping and everyone was dancing to the Latin music. It was only $5.50 for a beer! Since I wanted something quieter, I took my beer outside to their tables on the River Walk. Didn't order any food, but if you're looking for a drink, look no further than the Republic of Texas.

THE GOOD: The food and the decor were awesome.
THE BAD: After we were seated, it took approximately 10 minutes for a server to come to our table to introduce themself & bring us water, and that was ONLY after my husband spoke with the hostess. We requested to be seated inside where it was cooler. The music was so loud, we couldn't carry on a conversation with the person across the table. We asked 3 times & called the restaurant (from our table) TWICE before the music was turned off. For the icing on the cake: our server was pathetic. We saw her (maybe) 3 times throughout the meal & she and several other wait staff had to be asked to bring us utensils or fresh food.
Maybe the service is better on the weekend.

Great location. Wonderful staff and great food. Went with my wife and we sat outside to enjoy the nice breeze. We were greeted by Al who is exceptionally nice and answered all our questions on the menu. We got our drinks quickly followed by our appetizer and entrees and never had a empty water or drink. The staff was always happy to help!

We got there on a Saturday night at 9pm and were seated right away. Second level seating was nice and even though it was cold outside the heaters made for a warm experience. The waitress was very helpful with the order and made it so we didn't even have to look at the menu. Food was delicious and quick. Great atmosphere and inclusive with the riverwalk. We enjoyed it and will return.

I can't believe this place have so many bad reviews. Place was super busy but our food came out fast and server handle everything so good. Appetizer was large size and my steak was perfect. Drinks was amazing, strawberry mojito highly recommended.

November 2017 - Beautiful night on the river walk. We found this place because we wanted a reasonably priced steak, sit outside, and be away from the rest river walk ground level people. They had great outdoor seating, but it can be a bit tight in between the table. On our party of 4, there was a mess up with one of our drinks, and 3 mistakes on our food order, all of which they recognized and adjusted the bill for. Limited draft beer selection, but had an extensive bar menu. The drinks I felt were over priced (but it is the riverwalk), but the food was a great price (for a steak on the river walk).
I am torn between recommending this place...I feel like there are much better places to eat on the river walk, but your probably wont be able to find as fair of a price as the steaks there.

Our family was in town visiting and tried this place. Oct 2017 and it was amazing. I had meat loaf which was fabulous. The green beans were so good I finished them first. One of us had steak and the other chicken and sausage plate. Omg, it was so good! Then we ate pecan pie and peach cobbler. Both were amazing. Service was good too. We will go back for sure.

We took a Sefway tour earlier in the day and our guide told us about their 4.99 all you can eat daily lunch special. Today (Monday) is Chicken Fingers so we ordered then. They came with mashed potatoes, green beans and gravy or your favorite sauce. The whole meal was delicious. Server downplayed the special when we asked, and didn't act all that interested in serving out to us, but ended up servicing us really well. Will definitely go back.
