It really turns sour for me when it came to the room service we never received. I had to go down to the restaurant and ask for our food 30 mins after it was supposed to arrive. The room was on the top floor, and the air conditioner was ringing all night and could not be adjusted. The location was good, the breakfast buffet was very rich, with snacks, fruits, and smoked salmon, and the breakfast service was very good.

Overall it was clean and the room was spacious, so it was great. I arrived at the hotel early and just wanted to leave my luggage there, but I was grateful that I was allowed to check in. The only problems were that the elevators never came, and even when they did come on the lower floors they were full and I couldn't get on, and there was a line of people waiting for the elevator from below. The staff is great! Very friendly and accomodating. There are a lot of things for kids to do. The gym needs to be updated - worn out and not clean. It is located in a nice area of San Antonio. The rooms were pretty clean. The hallways and lobby areas were FREEZING.

Hotel grounds are beautiful and the property has so many fabulous dining options…even a Michelin star restaurant! Staff is very friendly and rooms are spacious!

The holiday decorations were done so well! Every staff member I encountered was helpful and professional.

Hotel is in a great location downtown! Check in was quick and easy. Staff friendly! Room was spacious. Wish our balcony had two chairs to sit. Would recommend for staying downtown and would stay again!

Great location in a quiet area of the Riverwalk yet walkable to many sites, restaurants, and other entertainment venues.

Nice location and walkable to most places on the river walk. However the rooms were dated and elevators made terrible noises. Room was clean. Staff was super nice and helpful. Not sure it’s worth the price.

We had asked for the pull out sofa to be made. They said it had sheets and everything. It did not. We kept calling with no success. Finally at midnight a security guard brought up the sheets so we could make it ourselves. Disappointed in the lack of service.

Clean room, the staff was all amazing!!!! The bell hop even entertained my kids while I checked out!

Beautiful view . The only discrepancy was that the refrigerator never got cold so all of my food which was really good food, spoiled. Also, the towels in the bathroom had hair all over them as if someone brushed their hair over them and they were never changed. Other than that the view was beautiful

Loved this hotel. Front desk staff was friendly upon checkin and explained everything we needed to know. Our room was clean and comfortable. I have to say the staff here are the nicest people, they welcome their guest with a warm welcome and they have good customer service. Hotel is in a great location, easy to walk to many restaurants, the Alamo and the Riverwalk.

My husband and I booked for SanJapan this year, and we loved our stay! All staff were professional, kind and accommodating the entire weekend. I called a few days before to request a lower floor ( I have a huge fear of elevators), and they were able to quickly change our room to the lowest floor possible. The room was clean, cold and quiet which was lovely. We hope to stay again next year!

Not to the expectation of Thompson Hotel. Restaurant was closes, odors in arrival, bathrooms are incredibly slippery and sub par service.

Room was amazing, staff was great, and the property was overall immaculate! Definitely staying here again!

Valet signs outside are a little confusing. Room service took a long time and menu was limited. It was ok for a night.

Amazing hotel! First visit to San Antonio and the Thompson but will definitely be back! Room was immaculate, staff was exceptional, Isaiah and Seth were very nice and accommodating! Couldn’t have been a better 4 days!

The room was clean, quaint and stylish. The bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower. Loved the breakfast up on the 20th floor!

Loved the location, but our balcony room looking out over the Riverwalk wasn't ready when we tried to check in at 4:50pm. The excused was that we had a balcony room. So i guess the best & most expensive rooms are cleaned last? We were told it was being inspected by mgt. Then made to wait 20 more mins while they checked ppl in and out. I finally had to interupt then to get our rook key. So frustrating...

Amazing locate, right off the river walk. Peaceful stay. Great rooms, very spacious, comfy bed, amazing staff from valet to front desk to housekeeping. Definitely felt pampered. June was amazing masseuse at the spa. Great food at the hotel restaurant Ostra.

Breakfast was amazing. Service was excellent. Really clean and very close to everything on the river walk. We will be back soon.

The Riverwalk Plaza was a beautiful, historical hotel. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful with all questions and concerns. It’s walking distance to the Riverwalk which is a HUGE bonus. There is also onsite dining options. I had the best blueberry latte I have ever had at the cafe on location. The next time I find myself in San Antonio, I will definitely be staying here again!

The window made a noise it was loose we had to put paper one it to stop making the noise. The closet doors did not close. The bathroom door was hard to move to close. Light bulb to floor lamp was out. Valet was good the guys were great.

The Riverwalk Plaza is located near other bars and food places. It is great for families, in their lounge they have movies, chess and other family games. On the other side you will find the Gavel. Good bar and great atmosphere, did not try any food but their drinks were on point.

The hotel was a little old, not apt for the price. Rooms are smaller than expected.

My room was clean and cleaned everyday for 2 weeks. The breakfast is packed unless you get in early. I'd get a made to order omelette and go back to bed. Located close enough to everything and there was a free shuttle to the airport and car rental place.

Price is reasonable. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Ask for main level room if you don't want to walk upstairs. Close to San Antonio airport with fast service to and from airport and car rental.

My visit to this hotel is awesome. We came before 3pm and our reservation was ready. Vanessa Andrade is such an awesome amazing person. She took very good care of me and my daughter. She has excellent customer service. I would recommend this hotel.

What a fantastic find! I walked in at 9:00 AM on a Tuesday morning and requested an early check-in, which I was given if I didn't mind a smoking room. Mind? Heck no! I noticed the breakfast area was busy and asked the clerk if I could purchase breakfast this morning (since I assumed the free breakfast was for tomorrow). . This was the most friendly place I have stayed at in a long while. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Food is delicious and just the right assortment. It's in close proximity to the necessities and airport and not too far a drive to everywhere else. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Staff was really attentive and helpful, careful not leaving your room key inside if you're going outside after 9pm, you'll get yourself locked out of the hotel.

Enjoy a meal or cocktail outside where you'll find a BBQ/pergola area that includes a fire pit and over-sized cedar benches with room for everyone. Entire residence is fenced in. Inside, relax at the bar, dining room or cozy living area.
Additional amenities: Casita is pet friendly as long as your furs are friendly to casita (see pet instructions below). There's a TV in every room, Alexa in stereo inside and out, record player (see care instructions below), Scrabble, Boggle or my fav, Mexican Bingo, quaint work area, faux fireplace, kitchen bar, claw tub in master bath, king bed in master bedroom, queen bed in guest bedroom and a queen-sized blow up mattress. There are also two patios to lounge on as well as the fire pit area and hot tub deck so the hammock. There's free parking all around the residence and the car port can fit 2 cars or trucks comfortably.
You’re close to every one of these hot spots I’m listing. Alamo, Riverwalk, El Mercado, The Pearl area, Southtown, Blue Star Complex, Alamo Heights, Broadway dowtown, SeaWorld, Fiesta Texas and our zoo if you have kids and so much more.
Famous places to eat at, pick up or have delivered include Mi Tierra's, La Margartia, The Original Blanco cafe, Chris Madrids, the Smoke Shack and the Cove to name just a few. There are also a ton of authentic dive Mexican eateries you can check out via take out or delivery. My favorite is just down the street ... El Rafas Cafe. And omg tacos ... you gotta get you some taco take out ‘cause San Antonio has the best tacos on the planet! There’s an awesome authentic taco spot down the street ... Rolando's Super Tacos!
There’s also a local Neighborhood HEB grocery store right down the street.
There’s plenty of delivery options for anything you could want or need. If you aren’t driving to casita but flying in, there‘s a bus stop down the street and car rental, there’s also ride share, that’s always my go to. Whatever option you choose, if you decide to go out, it’ll all be convenient because you are just a few minutes ride to most of the hot spots.

If you have pets, please ensure there is ZERO evidence your fur babies were ever at Casa De San Antonio. Las Casita es mi preciosa gem. I lived here for 5 years and put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in it. Also the property is fenced, but your furs could figure their way out, so I wouldn’t ever leave them unattended outside.
RECORD PLAYER AND ALBUMS ARE NOT FOR CHILDREN TO HANDLE., but tacos they can handle all they want! AND ADULTS, PLEASE HANDLE THE NEEDLE AND ALBUMS LIKE IT’S YOUR ABUELITA - with extreme care.
CHECK OUT is at 11:00 a.m. Please put all your used towels in the washer or the hamper. No need to strip the sheets, we will take care of that. Wash, dry and put away any used dishes. Be sure to close the hot tub lid and the security gate on your way out.
For guests with extended stays: Recycle day (blue bin)is every Mon. Trash day (back bin) - every Thurs.
HOT TUB USE: Remove cover when in use, put it back on when not in use. To operate the control panel, keep temp at 99-102 degrees by pressing the + and – button. The button next to that, press it once to turn the hot tub on, press again to turn it off. Press the light button next to that button to turn on the lights when using at night, press it again to turn it off when not using. Do NOT touch the last button.

Additional things to know about casita:
To get Alexa to work outside, look inside the bar, there’s a black box with buttons on it. Press the patio button and Alexa will join you outside. Same for the master bathroom. Don’t forget to switch it back to the kitchen and living room if you want to hear her inside. There is also a a little black remote control for lighting the bar inside up.
I have string lights in the back area around the car port, pergola and bbq pit roof. There are two plugs you can plug in by the car port where the bird house is hanging. You can keep them plugged in every night if you’d like. They are so pretty when they are on at night.
There’s a security camera outside by the back door.
