But holy moly, I saw one tiny bug in the doorway of the bathroom. I can live with one tiny little bug. Why the heck did seeing that one bug cause a LOT MORE bugs to come?! Some not so tiny!! The longer we stayed in the room, the more they surfaced! Crawling on the walls, on the floor, on the sink, near the towels (which were dirty/stained too!) and even on the bed headrests and TV!
We were stuck here since we already paid, unfortunately, so we tried to make the most of it. Not only was the TV remote the simplest, cheapest thing with barely any functionality to it, we asked for a replacement that BARELY got the job done (no access to the menu to adjust the brightness or color contrast which was sorely needed). Not only that, but we went down to the main office to ask for extra sheets, the attendant stated that "He'd send someone over with more sheets."
They never came.
Thankfully we were in Texas to visit cousins so they lent us some sheets for the night. But we were here for two nights. The bugs were getting ridiculous. My mother said every time she put her shoes on (because she REFUSED to walk anywhere in the room without something on her feet) there was another bug near her shoes. Not a fun way to spend a vacation.
So on this second day, a housekeeper came through and knocked on the door to see if we needed services. We asked for more sheets. He didn't understand the request, somehow. And even made a note to tell us that since we're getting new sheets, he's not cleaning the room tomorrow. We check out tomorrow. You're not going to clean up after folks who just left the room?? I don't understand, but that's most likely why our room was in the state it was in when we came through, huh.
Our stay in that room was seriously not pleasant. My skin is still crawling and I haven't been in Texas for a few days now. But considering I keep getting a reminder e-mail about filling out a survey, I might as well let you know!
Please please please, give more attention to your rooms and how they are. I know you've only been open for a year but a year is a LONG time to be able to get stuff together if you're going in the hospitality business.
1st room had a bathroom fan with extremely loud buzz. To flush toilet, had to take lid off tank. Told clerk & was shown a better room. Faucet on sink kept falling off. Towels & bedspreads had stain & shower curtain too. No smoke alarm or sprinkler in room. Just the back of a smoke alarm still on wall. Housekeeping was very nice lady & so were those in office. They did move a fridge into the room when I asked. Felt unsafe at night when taking dog out. We stayed in another motel 6 near baton Rouge, La. Was remodeled after a flood & had everything we needed was in room. Plus smoke alarm & sprinkler system.
Excellent housekeeping staff that goes the extra mile.
I give a rating of 4 stars. I deducted one star because of a disturbing encounter with security upon my check-out.
I would most definitely use this motel again, and I recommend it for long-term stay Sunday - Thursday.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
Our service was superb from start to finish, food was ordered and on the table in a timely manner.
Didn't try the famous cinnamon roll....yet.
I didn't like the smell when I first walked in. It had an odor like at a nursing home. The bad thing was the ladies restroom. It was dirty, smelled bad, the toilet handle looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile, and the hand dryer didn't work very well.
