19 Atlantic Hotel in Virginia Beach

The most disgusting place I ever had to stay at. Heard pounding music all night until 4am. Dirty sheets and blankets with weird stains on them and I couldn't even find anyone to get me clean sheets.. Hairs and grime in the shower... it was filthy and absolutely repulsive. Stayed up all night because of it and got no sleep at all. Stay away.

This place has bad customer service. You never know when the front door will be open for you to get in the building to buy a hotel room. They have no working telephone number. The staff at the front desk show up when they feel like it so you wil have to come and go multiple times to the hotel hoping someone is finally there. No one has time for that!

J1 students and others, sleep on street , do not accommodate here. the photos are totally fake. There is no window in rooms, ac does not work properly, the bed is bunk, cost too much, reception always sleeps in and the back room and you are lucky if you find them. When you leave you need to fight for months to be able to get your deposit back. I wrote 99+ mail and could get my deposit back with their bad words to me , scammers!!!

This is coming from someone who never leaves bad reviews and stays all the time on 2 and 3 star hotels but this is the worst hotel ever. Waited 45 min to check in because the lobby was closed, there was no doorbell and nobody was there (I could see the phone ringing and it was in silence). The parking lot was full because it was used by guests of the club next door so had to park 2 blocks away. The hallways are small and like a maze. The room is extremely small, just enough room to walk around the bed and dirty (could feel the dirt on my feet), the bed had TWO sheets without blankets, phone to call front desk did not work walked down and again nobody there so I had to use my beach towels as blankets, pillows were bad and of course no extra pillows. The AC was broken so they had a window AC unit that was not sealed at all so we could hear everything from the street (like normal volume conversations). The hair dryer had mold, shower handle was broken, we got 1 big towel. When asked to change rooms the person in the front desk simply said they were booked and that we could cancel the rest of the stay. When asked for an extra towel the answer was "why do you need one if you are not going to stay", supposedly a towel was going to be sent to the room but of course it never happened. Save your money and don't go there!

There was mold growing on the wall and I'm pretty sure contributed to getting sick.

Weird, I guess, pipe sounds? They matched the struggling air-conditioning noises of the broken HVAC.

Parking was a very small spot next to the building and when that filled you had to park two blocks away.

I guess a piped burst because there was some kind of leak and puddle in the hallway.

I almost gave it two stars only because the staff was friendly and there was a decent rooftop smoking area that you can look between the hotels on the beach and see some water.

Staying for two nights, April 20-21. I am very disappointed with the room and the hotel. Room is tiny, 8X8 or so. The bathroom is tiny. The room has no curtains and the brown broken blinds are terrible. The cold coming from the window is very uncomfortable. The double bed is the smallest I’ve ever seen and the mattress is hard and the pillows are hard and bulky. The hallway is so narrow that it makes me uncomfortable, I don’t like small narrow spaces. If you are looking for a good place to stay near the beach for good value, this is not it!!! Being comfortable and getting a good night sleep is worth the extra cost. Trust me, you can do better. Only thing I can say is that it’s one block from the beach, but for me it’s not worth it. We paid $198.52 for two nights and it’s not peak season and it is a cold weekend. Will not be returning!
