Manifa Hotel in Tashkent

We stayed here for a few nights on the last leg of our trip in Uzbekistan after amazing experiences at the same price point in both Bukhara and Samarkand. I feel compelled to leave a review. The room was turned over to us without towels or a remote for the AC. We asked more than 3 times before we received any of the items. Then our comforter smelled like it had been sprayed with febreeze. When I asked them to switch out the comforter for one that was fragrance free they pretended to do it and never did. Linens and towels all arrived with massive holes. Likely their washing machines fault so we did not choose to do laundry at their facility. When I told them that our towels had large rips through them they didn’t bother to replace them. Breakfast was oily and not tasty. We ate out every day even though we specifically chose a hotel that included breakfast. Overall you couldn’t pay me to stay here again. The one star was for the friendly staff. But if they can’t be bothered to care to do their job well what does it matter?

For a three star hotel the rooms are good. But the bathrooms are disgusting, I couldn’t go into the shower barefoot, because of mold. The staff did not even try to fix a broken toilet seat. The toilet brush photos speak for itself. Our request to replace them did not result in anything. Total of 3 days stay was not worth the good price.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel left a very bitter taste.
The hotel itself looks decent — clean, tidy. However, what you expect from the staff in such a place is reliability and honesty towards guests. And here, I was completely let down.

I asked for help arranging round-trip transport to the Heliocomplex near Tashkent. I was told it could be arranged… for $150! I felt like they took me for just another clueless tourist to be overcharged without hesitation. It took me less than five minutes with the Yandex app to book a comfortable round trip for under $50.

It’s not just about the price difference — it’s about the fact that in a hotel that presents itself as high-quality, you should feel safe and able to trust the staff. Instead, I felt blatantly cheated. It was very disappointing and completely ruined my overall impression of the stay.

I do not recommend this hotel. You can forgive many things, but dishonesty towards guests — never.
