Hat - An Bang Village in Hoi An

This was truly a one-of-a-kind hotel experience. From the room to service to the location, it’s hard to imagine a better place to stay in Hoi An.

Van, the receptionist, welcomed me with open arms and made my stay incredibly special. She is so kind and genuinely attentive, always making sure I was happy and comfortable.

The room itself is stunning, and you can immediately tell it was thoughtfully designed by an architect. From the cement walls and floors to the high-quality, comfortable furniture and the unique art on the walls, it was honestly hard to leave the room and explore the city.

The stay includes free breakfast every morning, and it was absolutely delicious. You can also purchase beautiful ceramics in the lobby to support local artisans. The amenities are excellent as well — bikes, towels, water, tea, snacks are provided and restocked daily.

This hotel made my entire Hoi An experience unforgettable and was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Old Town. The location is ideal: right by the beach and just a quick bike ride into Old Town. There are also plenty of great cafés along this street. I loved spending my mornings walking around, exploring the neighborhood, and biking through such a beautiful area.

All in all, this is an absolute must-stay. If I ever find myself anywhere near Hoi An again, I’ll be staying here without a doubt.

Dechiu is an experience. From being greeted with tea and taster snacks in a calm and welcoming main room, to the thoughtful design and carefully chosen artworks, this place seeps into your soul, slows you down and makes you relax.

Whether it's worth the money is very personal; it's quite expensive for the immediate area and the amenities are very basic. There's a small cafe restaurant in reception and in a deluxe room you get a large bed and a window with a limited sea view. There's AC but no TV or alarm clock or other tech. You get a shower but no bath. You don't get drawers or an iron. Nevertheless, I really loved it.

What you do get is relaxation. From the diffusers in the room, to the tea and coffee provided and the general feel of the place and even the dog in reception, everything here will relax you, slow you down and chill you out.

Dechiu is the perfect destination hotel. In fact, ‘hotel’ isn’t the right description because it’s so much more than that, it’s a home away from home.

From the moment you enter this hidden gem, you are greeted with warm, friendly smiles, refreshing tea and any stress or worries that you may have carried with you, melt away as you relax into the nurturing ambience of this very special place.

The customer care at Dechiu is on another level, the staff go above and beyond to ensure that guests feel very much at home. Nothing is a problem for the Dechiu staff who are at all times focused on ensuring that you have an amazing stay.

Dechiu isn’t the place for people who like generic 5 star hotels, it’s for those who enjoy bespoke service and a property with character, personality and the most perfect atmosphere.

There are so many things about the rooftop room that we loved, but especially, the beautiful earthy- toned flax linen sheets, the delicious scented oils in the bathroom (which can be purchased at reception), the tasty baked treats and delectable teas, the sound of the gently rolling waves opposite and the impressive art and textile collection…everything is intentional and sincere.

Dechiu wraps you up in serenity, kindness, a slower pace and appreciation of the calming qualities of wabi sabi styling, as well as a feeling that all is well with the world.

The breakfast is healthy and delicious and they are always happy to make adjustments to suit your taste. The beach club opposite appears to be closed so we didn’t experience any loud noises at night just the sound of the ocean waves and a couple of evening showers.

We’ll never forget our stay and can highly recommend it to travellers who enjoy quality and excellent customer care.

Dechiu Hotel is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly and made check-in completely seamless, even offering us drinks and snacks while we settled in. The entire team was incredibly nice and made sure we had everything we needed at all times.

The freshly cooked breakfast was a major highlight, featuring a rotating menu every day that was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the location near the beach is so peaceful and relaxing. It had everything we could possibly want and I already can’t wait to come back!

What a truly special experience it was to stay here. The location is perfect if you enjoy peace and quiet, while still having the option to explore lively surroundings. The hotel is close to the beach, which immediately gives you a sense of calm and relaxation, yet the vibrant city is easily reachable by bike or taxi.
The interior design is absolutely beautiful. As an interior designer myself, I found this place incredibly inspiring. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, really clean, and create a very calming atmosphere. On top of that, the breakfast was excellent and the staff took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Dechiu for 2 nights. The hotel is gorgeous - unlike any other boutique hotel I’ve stayed at before. The design, interior, and beauty of the place stands out and makes it very special (and homely too).

Each room is unique. We stayed at the Rooftop Room - it was large, very comfortable with the feeling of luxury. It is the perfect hotel to unwind, relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of what Vietnam typically is.

It’s location is just a 10 minute drive to Hoi An Old Town, with the beach just a stone’s throw away and some bars/eateries within walking distance. Breakfast was provided daily (one western and local option) with several beverages to choose from.

Would stay again and definitely recommend it! Thanks again for the staff for being so accomodating and helpful for our entire stay 😊

Perfect if you wanna escape from the hustle and noisy life cos as what others had reviewed, this hotel's location isn't right smack around action but located in a quiet part of An Bang beach. A 20 min walk to where the seafood restaurants are at the beach and a 10 min car ride to ancient town.

The deco of the entire hotel gives a very relaxing feel while having a character of its own, sabi at its best. But do note that there is no lift lol. We stayed at the roof top level so while walking up and down everyday is fine, it's the checking in and out with luggage that helped to burn off all the calories consumed in Hoi An. Roof top room is very spacious. There was only 1 TV but it wasn't working (much to the adults' delight but not the kids).

Was really disappointed that the Gieo Cafe within the hotel wasn't serving food out of breakfast hours, as the past reviews had been positive and the daily breakfast served proved that the food served out of there was sumptuous. There is a choice of eggs and bread or Vietnamese noodles daily and the noodles I had for the past 3 days were really too good. And a serving of yogurt and fruits after the mains complete the breakfast. Gonna miss the daily vegan breakfast with juice and coffee.

Service staff were attentive and helpful too.

Stayed at the 2 rooftop units for my family of five. The walk up to the room is good exercise to burn all the food we ate. Location is great as its near to the beach and away from the crowd near Ambang beach. Staff were warm and made our stay enjoyable.

PROs: “Rustic” artsy bnb style hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this location as it’s much better than staying in hoi an town (just rent a scooter from reception not a bike because it’s too hot) to get to town and back easily, quickly and enjoy the sea breeze while doing so! AMAZING local cuisine breakfast at the hotel every morning.

CONs: My gf loved the mattress but I found it a little too firm; don’t expect it to be luxurious - thin towels and shower head fixture was loose

I booked two nights here; the rooftop room has a fantastic view, and the room is a unique interior. It is a family business, so very intimate and cozy atmosphere. Bring personal care to stay here because they don't have it. In front is the beach so beautiful and peaceful when I stayed here.
