Kamomil Hotel in Durres

I stayed at Hotel Kamomil from August 13–15 and had a mixed experience. I originally booked a sea-view room with air conditioning, but unfortunately the AC wasn’t working. The hotel moved me to a room at the back, which was clean and comfortable—but they still charged me the original price, which felt unfair.

The beachfront location is definitely a highlight, and the included parking and beach umbrella were convenient. The hotel was quiet during my stay, which I appreciated.

I had breakfast and dinner included in my reservation. The food was generally good, and the dinner buffet changed nightly. However, the drinks were disappointing—only tap water was available, and the filtered water had a bad smell. Even bottled water seemed to be refilled with tap water, which I’d advise future guests to avoid.

Restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming, but the check-in experience was less pleasant. I’d recommend checking your room thoroughly before making any payments.

Overall, Hotel Kamomil has potential, especially with its location and food, but there are areas that need improvement—particularly transparency with room changes and drink quality.

Would I recommend it? Yes and no. If you’re looking for a quiet beachfront stay and don’t mind a few inconveniences, it might work for you. But be cautious about what you’re paying for.
