Kastro Hotel in Gjirokaster

We had a perfect stay at Kastro Hotel in Gjirokaster. The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the breakfast buffet offered a great choice. We really enjoyed our time in this hotel.

This is a small and quaint lodging that perfectly fits the old town atmosphere. Service was amazing from the young man that sits at the front desk who was so warm, friendly and helpful. The room was large and had all the amenities. Only problem was the AC had a strange smell blowing out when you turn it on initially but apparently no one else could smell it so maybe it was just me? We happened to be there during a check-in festival and the music was going live from famous Albanian artists right in front of our room but we really enjoyed it! Never expected a free concert going to this old town. Loved the stay, enjoyed the unexpected live concert with fun music and lively crowd, and the lovely hospitality offered at this hotel.

Located at the edge of the town within easy reach of the centre, restaurants and bars. Our room was small but comfortable. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was varied and plentiful using local produce with the option of eating in or out. The family were extremely helpful.

A lovely family run hotel just by one of the gates to the old town. But in a quiet peaceful location with its own quiet shaded courtyard.

A beautiful hotel in a great location, just below the castle. Such friendly hosts, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

Great hotel. Right in the heart of the town but away from any noise. The beds are super comfortable and it has a real shower with a shower door, which is bizarrely rare in Europe. I’d definitely stay here again.

The only negative is that it doesn’t have the view of the mountains like other hotels. Rather, a pleasant view of a courtyard.

Beautiful property overlooking the castle ,close to Old Bazaar,excellent location location. Beautifully constructed hotel with stone & wood. The hosts were exceptionally kind ,warm & helpful ,5 star hospitality . Will definitely stay here again

This hotel was a great pleasure to visit. We had spacious loft room 301. A very hot room in the heat...but air conditioning is excellent and quickly cooled the room. The staff and manager are very friendly and were most obliging. The mattress was comfortable ...slightly firm at first. Hotel patio has lovely views of the valley and imposing castle towering above. The 280 Lesser Kestrels that roost every night in the adjacent tall cedar (?) tree exactly at sunset were extaordinarily entertaining to watch. For seniors, due to town development access to the hotel was an uphill walk about 8 minutes from car park. Luckily, staff transferred our luggage and that was vital. Slight issues at nearest corner as steps were tricky to access and cobbled street was fairly steep. Bathroom was small, modern and perfect. Breakfast was simple but good. Lovely traditional but new interior. Very calm and pleasant aura to the hotel whcih is hard to explain.
