Republika Hotel in Sarande

Had booked a sea view room, but ended up in a room with a limited view. It was almost impossible to discuss this matter with the hotel staff as nobody seemed to understand any foreign language. Tried English, French, German, Italian, Chinese.. In addition to this many of our group had booked sea view rooms,but were only offered rooms on lower levels. The top floor rooms were reserved for potential guests. It seems to be a rutine procedure in this hotel. So if you book a sea view room, be prepared to face the next door hotel wall. The rooms with the view are reserved for potential customers, not for paid customers. And after we complained we got a room with a view, but not from the main side with full day sunshine, but a room with a retractable balcony. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street, but this means nothing. Beware of the cars, mopeds, scooters etc and the noise coming from somewhere, sometimes until 5 o’clock in the morning. Pack good ear blugs! Breakfast room offers a great view to the sea and the coffee is good.
