I stayed here for 3 nights during my solo trip to Sydney.
The location is excellent—it’s only a 10-minute walk to Central Station, making it so easy to get around. The whole place was spotless, and I was really impressed by the staff's attitude—they were so welcoming and helpful! As it’s a hostel, I was surprised by how spacious the beds were; it made my stay very comfortable. Best of all, it's incredibly affordable.
It was a wonderful experience overall. Without a doubt, I'll stay here again next time I visit Sydney!

A perfect stay experience, the bedroom environment is very quiet. The front desk provides disposable body wash and shampoo. Considering the prices of other hotels in Sydney, this place offers excellent value for money.

My stay at The Pod Sydney was generally positive, especially considering I was traveling solo and staying in a mixed dorm.
The Location deserves a perfect 5/5. It is truly exceptional—right in the heart of the city and just steps away from public transport, making it incredibly easy to get to all the main attractions.
Cleanliness was also very good (4/5). The common areas and bathrooms were well-maintained and tidy.
However, I rated both Service and Facilities as Okay (3/5). While the staff was courteous, the check-in process felt a bit slow, and I didn't feel the communal facilities truly stood out. For instance, the common room felt small for the number of guests.
Overall, if a prime location and good cleanliness are your top priorities as a solo traveler, The Pod Sydney is a solid choice. Just manage your expectations regarding the facilities and service efficiency.

Nice spot, walkable to everything and in a good busy area. Staff are friendly and facilities were great and very clean. Enjoyed my stay. Not the most sociable though, I would stay again but don’t expect to really meet people here. More for somewhere nice to sleep.

Super clean hostel with great facilities and location, perfect if you want a night to relax. Not really sociable as most people staying there are working. But was perfect for a night stay before the airport as the train station is only a 8 minute walk away

Great food, enough portions. Opens till late. The only drawback for me is sharing table with other people. Busy all the time. Live local Thailand music. I don’t understand it but it was good. A must try place for sure. I missed eating crape so I’m waiting to go back. (The crape stall closes at 11pm).

Great pad thai and iced Thai coffee. Friendly staff and a popular spot for local Thais which is a good sign. We will go back.

As a fan of Thai food, this place truly delivers. There is a very pleasing aesthetic be with the bricked walls and urban-esque decoration. Service is always extremely quick, and food is very delicious. Highly recommend.

My most favourite yumcha restaurant in Sydney! Take a group or take a date for some early morning yumcha.
Food: 10/10 delicious and perfect
Service: 7/10 expect the usual service
Ambiance: 9/10 simply beautiful

One of my favourite yum cha places. Service is great expect for the 'managers' dressed in black who attempt to avoid any physical work. Yum cha selection is great and the trolley ladies are always kind and hospitable. Avoid ordering an alcoholic beverage and just drink the tea for goodness sake.

English skills lacking; ordered 3 times and still got it wrong. Authentic atmosphere, but menu is huge and gives the impression for the possibility for prepared, reheated items. Carpet is dirty.

came in for a work lunch, we had pre-ordered via email. There was no soap in the bathroom, advised the manager, he said he'd take a look & never got back to me. I then asked the waitress who went into the bathroom, came out & never got back to me. I then asked the manager again & he came out of the bathroom with soap still on his hands held up as if I were incapable of operating the soap dispenser but clearly the waitress had fixed it without advising anyone. Of the pre-ordered meals, they had left one out and advised we never ordered it yet we had email confirmation that we infact had.Poor service, food was sub-par and above all, overpriced. Would definitely avoid.
