Reviews
While I had to arrive on time to avoid any issues because I like it... what happened? The plane was delayed. Add to that the construction they're doing on the tram in Gran Canaria.
Luckily, I arrived on time, but they never answered.
Then they left very few paper products and soap. I asked them to leave more at the door. Instead, they went inside!
The three times I had to go to reception, there were two Chinese guys who didn't seem to want to work. They kept me waiting while they were on the phone, and it was obvious they weren't calling customers.
Then there was another guy cleaning something with a super noisy machine from early in the morning.
There's also construction across the street, and it wasn't clearly indicated.
- carpet was dirty
- room stunk
- no lift, room was on the top level
- kitchen dirty
- no one avail at reception
- no wifi
- pictures falling of wall
- pool looked green
Do not stay here. They charge $300 deposit along a list of other fees...very disappointed
The room felt like a small apartment, with a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and bedroom. It also had a balcony facing a small pool where guests can swim. Although the facilities are a bit old, everything was very clean. There was a washing machine and dryer, and both laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent were provided.
Unfortunately, the washing machine in our room was broken, but when we told him about it, he kindly offered to wash our clothes for us instead. From start to finish, he remained calm and handled everything with great care. We really appreciate his help.
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
We found the Neptune Resort is located at an awesome location opposite fabulous Pan Pacific Fair SC and nearby Oasis SC Woolworths.
We didn’t need a car as we walked everywhere to SCs and to the light rail and bus terminal located beside NR. Travelled by public transport to Movieworld & SeaWorld parks, Surfers Paradise, Currumbin Bird Sanctuary. Staff are Patient Helpful Polite Respectful. Cafes and Broadbeach shops are within walking distance. The Kurrawa Beach is a 5 minute walk away. Broadbeach and its shopping mall is a 10 minute walk away. Thanks very much 🙏 Brett & Paula!!! My family absolutely loved staying here 😊
No fault of the hotel, but the area is overrun with loud cars and motorcycles who seem to take joy in ensuring the thousands of residents can hear their personal engine above everyone else's. That is part of the Gold Coast scene wherever you go unfortunately.
The rooms vary quite a bit between really nice and fairly average. It seems these are mostly managed units by individual owners so you can tell those owners that put some care and expense into their units.
I was travelling here for work and the little things make a big difference like having a decent coffee machine and tasteful furnishings and so on. Admittedly I am a bit fussy and found some units with junky cheap furniture and little effort in terms of appliances, fixtures and so on to be a little disappointing. On the other hand, some of the units were very nice and endowed with the kind of things I would have in my own home, which made a big difference to me.
There were a few quirky things like instructions and directions on the TVs and lots of written warnings about various things for which you might incur a charge for. I regard these types of things in resort accommodation as being in quite poor taste and generally indicative of customer service that isn't particularly guest focussed but also fairly typical for Australian businesses in general so I wouldn't expect elsewhere to be much different.
For reference I own and let holiday accommodation in a nearby regional area and many years ago spent ten years working in hospitality at resorts of various kinds internationally.
The staff were so lovely and down to earth.
We had a one bedroom apartment which was perfect for my son and I. Our balcony overlooked the pool, which I was nervous about being school holidays, but it honestly was quiet most of the time. The pool has beautiful blue lights and looks so pretty at night time. I wasn't even mad at being on the first floor because that view was quite nice.
They have a tennis court that has free hire (pay $10 for racquets and balls if you don't byo). That was fun as I hadn't played in over 20yrs.
Location, perfection! It's directly across from the light rail in Broadbeach, so if you're heading to an AFL or event at Carrara stadium, a free shuttle runs from there. Literally a stone's throw (I don't recommend actually measuring that way! 😉) . Pacific fair shopping centre is behind that transport station too
The resort is a couple blocks from the beach and main Broadbeach area with loads of dining options and shops if Pac fair is too huge for you!
I definitely got the sads leaving, and my son and I are going to make an effort to have more mini holidays there
Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming, friendly and helpful
Unfortunately there was a problem with the wifi for three nights, but Brett fixed it. On reception, I think her name was Elaine, and Brett the manager, were very nice and extremely helpful.
We would certainly stay at Neptune's again and would highly recommend this resort.
Thank you Brett and your team!
The Cafe in the Neptune is really good and the food was lovely. We had breakfast and lunch there and would highly recommend them.
It is so convenient having the Cafe in the complex, as if you don't have to go out to eat in the morning if you don't want to.
Five star for Neptune's and Tom's Cafe. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Food was YUMMY!
The lamb and chicken skeweres were delicious, and the tabouleh was fresh and very well seasoned.
We really enjoyed the mezze plate with assorted dips, and artichokes to- the yogurt dip was so creamy and more-ish!
We had the hommous dip topped with minced lamb- o em gee yuuuuum! And the pitta bread was delicious to- not to thick and seasoned well.
We finished dinner off with the ice cream trio, the honey cinnamon was out of this world.
All paired with a few nice glasses of red, and great service, staff were very helpful and welcoming. Would definetly return!
Highly recommend!
Overall the food was too hit and miss for my liking. I won't return.
over all I would rate it at 2.5 had the dessert not made it up.. nonalcoholic mocktail was ok...
A once only place!!!
