Sonnblick is a really lovely hotel that ticks all the boxes. Modern and traditional, the rooms are very comfortable with luxury shower rooms. Location is superb, just 3-4 minutes walk from main lift. The main lift has excellent ski-locker facilities. The hotel team are delightful with particular mention to Livia and Tommy the barman. The food is excellent, there is a heated pool and sauna for those tired legs! Great place which i highly recommend. Tom

Great hotel, excellent breakfast, clean rooms, lovely spa. If i was being picky I would say the ski boot room is a little small and quite cramped when more than a couple of people are in there. The Aperol Spritz was very well made though and this more than made up for it. :)

Staff very friendly and helpful, room is good, though there was a sewer smell in the bathroom and sauna, some maintenance could be done here and there, especially the pool, but overall good impression of the hotel 👍

We stayed in the Sonnblick apartments up the road from the hotel. Fabulously equipped and extremely roomy and comfortable. The most amazing breakfast (everything under the sun) was served in the hotel 5 minutes walk downhill, where you could keep your skis. The staff went over and beyond and were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The heated outdoor pool and sauna were spotless. Cannot recommend enough.

We spend time at this hotel, during a very busy week this year. We arrived early, but were warmly welcomed. Brought our stuff to the room and wanted to walk around the village. We got a great tip where we could grab a coffee outside of the services of the hotel. The hotel is really close to the center and also very well to walk to the lift, also for our kids of 5 and 7! The stay was great, all the personnel was very friendly at all times. Before the holiday started the hotel also provided good references to skischool and other activities we were searching for. Would really recommend this hotel, they really went the extra mile to make our holiday a special time. Rooms were clean, spacious for the four where we also had a separate room for the kids to sleep. Swimming pool Outside was nicely heated and therefore a treat after some hours of skiing. The hotel was great situated, our room at the side did not have any noise. All in all great value for money. Oh, and the three course diner that we included every night was great, for the kids as adults. As for the breakfast nothing less, a lot of choice for a great breakfast! FAN-9451

We had a wonderful 7-day stay at Hotel Sonnblick. The staff were fantastic and incredibly attentive throughout our visit. We stayed on the 4th floor, which offered an amazing view of the mountains near Zell am See.

The location is perfect for skiers—it's just a few minutes' walk (even in ski boots) to the Maiskogel cable car, providing easy access to both the local slopes and the glacier gondola. The food was a highlight: breakfast offered a great selection of hot and cold options, and the evening dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. We made good use of their wellness centre after a day of skiing, the outdoor heated pool was great along with the 2 types of saunas.

A special thank you to the team for making my birthday so memorable—they truly went above and beyond. They also accommodated a late checkout, which allowed us to squeeze in one final day of skiing before heading home. We would return without hesitation!

Wonderful family run hotel with great staff accommodation and facilities. The breakfast buffet was perfect for hitting the slopes catering to all.
Walking distance to the maiskogel gondola, the centre of town and ski bus services. We will be back!

Hotel Sonnblick in Kaprun has accompanied me for more than 20 years, with occasional breaks due to professional moves and family phases—but it has always remained a place I happily return to. Over this time, I’ve witnessed an impressive evolution: from a very traditional family house to a modern, thoughtfully run business led by the next generation, Michaela and her family. The recent reconstruction combines contemporary comfort and digital efficiency with great respect for local tradition and alpine character. The result offers full comfort without losing its soul. The atmosphere is warm, personal, and genuinely welcoming. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, service is attentive, and the evening dining is rich —high-quality local food with a varied menu choice each night. Sonnblick is child-friendly in a sincere, natural way, making it ideal for families. Its location near the Kitzsteinhorn also ensures snow-reliable winter sports for much of the year. Not mentioning the heated outdoor pool;-) My sincere thanks to the Muxel-Rexeisen family and their entire team for their hospitality and personal care of every guest. Sonnblick is a place you return to.

We had a fantastic two-night stay at this lovely hotel. The rooms were clean and modern, with a great view. We were positively surprised by the spa area which is more spacious then expected. Breakfast had plenty of options, including lactose- and gluten-free. The big star goes to the staff, which have all been tremendously kind. We’ll be back!
