Hotel Barbarahof in Saalbach

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barbarahof.

The hotel itself is lovely and feels like a traditional Austrian hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side, but incredibly comfortable and very clean.

Going to the sauna was a lovely surprise as it is a lot bigger than what is evident from the pictures.

The food was fantastic during our stay. Breakfast buffet was great and had a lot of choice. The salad buffet was changing every day and the quality was very good. The options for dinner were fun and creative and again of great quality.

Every member of the team was lovely and accommodating. The free ski shuttle was also a lovely addition.

Overall the hotel was very taken care of and very generous in terms of extras (the apres ski on Thursday’s was such a lovely and surprising touch).

The ski area itself is great as well (unfortunately the valley run to the hotel was closed).

Would highly recommend staying here!

We had a superb stay here in February half term. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable with a mountain view at the rear of the building. We thoroughly enjoyed the good food on offer at both dinner and breakfast. The ski room featured plenty of boot heaters and was easy to access. The hotel ran a minibus to either of the main lift areas which was quick and efficient.

We had a wonderfull stay at Barbarahof. The food is excellent, the service is really top, very friendly (especially Ivo !) We come back here for many years alreay for the food en the service! Everything is very clean also, real good value for money! We thanjk Roland and his wife for their friendly and warm welcome. The location is also very nice, with quality snow (with some luck) & great ski accomodation.

Just back from a week's skiing with my daughter in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Hotel Barbarahof was delightful - lovely cosy-but-large room, with exceptionally comfy beds. Everything was very clean. The room was warm with fluffy duvets. There was a safe available, and a nice quality shower gel was provided in the bathroom. The hotel is family-owned, and they really cared about making us feel welcome. We were half-board, and the food was great - a massive buffet breakfast every morning, including freshly-cooked omlettes, cereals, pastries and breads, meats, cheese, a range of juices, teas, fancy coffee machine - and the owner's home-made granola (which was delicious!) Evening meals had a fresh salad bar, soups, cheeses - plus a choice of 3 mains (one meat, one fish, one veggie), and the house dessert. I have an allergy, and the team were really careful to check that my food was suitable. You have to pay for tap water with the evening meal - but I think that is standard in Austria. The hotel also stocks a good range of wine (and the 'house wine' was very acceptable), as well as a good selection of beers, cocktails and soft drinks. There were apres-ski activities put on (one evening we had gluwein and snacks around the firepit - very festive). There was a wellness area - although it was 'Austrian style' (naked), which was a bit of surprise - being 'Brits' and with my teenage daughter, we resolutely kept our bathing suits on (and waited until the sauna and steam rooms were 'clear' before heading in! LOL...) The hotel also had a lift, which was good for tired legs at the end of the day. The ski room had heated boot warmers available, which was good to start the day. The staff were exceptional - particularly Michaela, who took time and care to make us feel really welcome. The hotel is situated between the towns of Saalbach and Hinterglemm, and there was a frequent, free ski bus shuttling between them - the stops were steps away from the hotel. Unfortunately there wasn't enough snow to 'ski in' - but we were early in the season, so that's probably available later on. Thanks for a great stay.

Excellent choice, lovely hotel, very warm and clean with all the facilities in house, like Wellness centered, bar excellent resturant with rich and delicious meals, and above all friendly warm staff working hard to provide the costumers the best experience. It was the best choice we will come again 😀

Great little family run hotel, the wellness area is fairly big & despite it being open from 15-19 o’clock they did open it on the last day early to help out our group.
The restaurant and the conservatory are nice places to eat. That said the first dessert was Kaiserschmarren this was served in a cold metal skillet and was therefore cold, otherwise the food was of a good standard.
They serve Weihenstephaner beer which is nice & at 6,50€ it should be.

Myself, my wife and 8 year old son stayed at the Hotel Barbarahof last week. We stayed in the larger double room with the sauna in it. The room was clean and very comfortable. Often overlooked is how comfortable the bed is, not here.
The service in the hotel was first class and there are many nice touch's that make the place feel special.
The pedal go karts and other outdoor space and toys were a real hit for the kids.
There was a real family feel to the hotel. The BBQ and marshmallows was a special evening.

Perfect place for summer hiking. In the center of saalbach hinterglemm, so very short driving to all lifts. Also perfect for MTB riding. The hotel has a guide from Bike n' SOul so plenty of possibilities for training/tips. The restaurant is perfect and the personal is outstanding. Stayed there 6 nights and would recommend it at anytime to anyone, especially families.
