Hotel Almrausch in Saalbach

A good family-run business and very friendly. The staff is also polite and helpful. The food was excellent and more than adequate. The rooms are large and spacious.

This was without a doubt the best ski hotel that we have ever stayed in. It was incredibly clean, the rooms were a great size, the shower was great, the beds were comfortable, the food was amazing, the wellness centre was all you needed and quiet. The location was perfect for the whole ski area with a drag literally outside and the ski bus stop just across the road. It was also only a 5 minute walk to the gondola, ski hire shop, lift pass kiosk etc. I will definitely book again next time we ski Hinterglemm/Sallbach.

Meals and staff were both great. Room and view was very good looking onto the slope at the back of the hotel. We would go again says it all.

Just come back from a lovely stay at this hotel! 100% worth a five star rating! All the staff were friendly and very attentive during dinner and breakfast ( but not overbearing) and every room was spotlessly clean. Food every night was gorgeous and enjoyed every single meal we ate there. Couldn’t be closer to the ski lift, about two arms reach away once outside!!! Also had amazing spa/ chill areas which was very needed after a long day on the slopes. Small hotel but exactly what we wanted, no noise, clean, friendly staff and beautiful food! Very well ran and would definitely return here if skiing in the area again. Made our family holiday so much more special, thank you hotel Almrausch ＜3

Recently back from a family ski trip staying at Hotel Almrausch. Small family run hotel which was spotlessly clean. The location of this hotel simply could not have been any better. Its literally 15 steps away from a t bar lift which is accessed from a side door with lift directly from the boot/ski locker room. Rooms were very clean and the showers were fantastic pressure and very hot. Lighting could have been a bit brighter in the bedrooms but not a big problem. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were just the right level of attentive. The only downside for us was the bar area is not very big and as we were in three seperate bedrooms, there wasnt really anywhere to sit together in the evenings. Again not a big problem as we were all so tired from the days skiing, we went to bed fairly early. The bedrooms are very well sound insulated and we didnt hear any noise from other hotel guests (including our noisy son in the next door room!) The spa area was a very nice bonus after a days skiing although it was requested that you didnt wear swimming costumes in there. Realise this is an Austrian thing and you should embrace it, which my husband did but I just didnt feel comfortable with it so stayed in costume! but sat on towels which there was an ample amount of in spa area. Obviously being a small hotel, it might not have had as many facilites as one of the many larger hotels in the resort but think the difference with it was the service, which I just dont believe you get in a large hotel. The ski area of Hinterglemm and Saalbach is fantastic. So many lifts and runs. Think our longest queue was 1 minute but then we wasnt there in half term! Overall, I would 100% recommend this hotel. Thankyou to all the staff who made our family ski trip a very enjoyable one.

Just returned from a brilliant stay at this lovely hotel. It is situated at the quieter end of Hinterglemm which suited us perfectly as not bothered but any noise but just a short walk to the Gondolas or you can hop on the drag lift next door. The ski bus to Saalbach is also stops just across the street. Our room was a little small and could perhaps benefit from a bit more storage but it was very cosy, had an amazing shower and was cleaned to a fantastic standard every single day. The wellness area is very relaxing with 2 saunas, an infrared cabin and a steam room. I liked to get there early and most days had it to myself which was bliss. The food was excellent and the staff worked extremely hard to get everyone fed promptly. We especially enjoyed the buffet evenings. The hotel is also making great use of technology with touch screen lifts and smart tvs in the room. The ski room is very large and you get a secure locker per room. Thanks for a lovely stay and if we found ourselves in the area again, we would not hesitate to stay again.

This is our second time staying at this amazing hotel, with a very hospitable family and their staff. The location is excellent, next to the ski lift, and with the new elevator (!), you can go directly from the heated ski storage to the slopes. The food is a delight every day, and half-board is simply a must. Relaxing in the (extensive) sauna after a day of skiing is absolutely enjoyable. We've stayed in quite a few hotels, but never in one where cleaning is done non-stop. This hospitality family knows how to treat their guests and deserves a big compliment. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great hotel with friendly staff. Stayed here for a week as part of Crystal ski holiday package. The room was modern and spotlessly clean but not particularly cozy. But it did have a kettle and fridge for that all important morning cuppa. Could have saved some space as we brought our own travel kettle. Bathroom also had wall mounted full sized shower gel, body lotion so no need to bring also. Breakfast buffet including egg station was plentiful and tasty. The evening meal includes salad bar and starters followed by soup then mains (usually choice of 4) that you select at breakfast. The food really is top notch and varied. We had excellent Pork, Beef, Halibut, Lamb & Venison dishes. Local wines such as Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch are well worth trying and priced €26 per bottle upwards. Location of hotel allows access to the slopes very easily via a t-bar drag lift. However the south facing slopes that allow more novice / intermediate friendly via gondola are a 5 min walk away. Overall a great place to stay

What a fab week. Hotel Almrausch was totally perfect for us as family. Very big and spotlessly clean room. The hotel is family run and they make you feel so welcome. The food really is fine dining in the evening and in our opinion more onf 5 star level than 4 star. The wine selection was wide and very well thought through. Breakfasts were also great, refreshing that there wasn't a silly amount of choice but what there was, was very plentiful and well presented. The wellness area is amazing, again, so clean and very well equipped and very relaxing after a hard day skiing. Great situation right next door to the T-bar lift that allows access then to higher lifts/gondolas. Literally a minute walk to the ski bus stop giving access to all the ski/gondola stations in the area. Hinterglemm is a beautiful town with so many lovely shops/bars/apres/restaurants - you really are so well placed but yet it is a much quieter/calmer town than Saalbach. Great location, just on the slope and close to the center. Rooms are nice and clean with a very nice bathroom. Breakfast was fine. I would recommend a stay here.
