Overall this is a GREAT hotel for kids. If you don't have kids stay away it's loud.

We didn't like connecting rooms, we had a neighbor on both sides of the room with locked doors. Not great.

Food is 4/5. Staff 5/5. Sauna area 4/5. Pet friendly. EV charger.

For families with very young kids I strongly recommend, for older children or no children - not so much, it gets very loud.

My family and I (3 children aged 9, 7 and 5) went on a ski trip and spent 4 nights at Kesselgrub (31/12 => 5/1). We booked the Suite 'Garden-Love'.
Upon arrival (morning), we were offered a room to change to go skiing. The welcome was warm and we were offered a back-pack to take for skiing. We were spontaneously informed on ski bus and spots for ski renting.
The interior of the hotel is very traditional yet modern and provides a warm and cosy atmosphere. The room was very clean and spacious. Our children were very enthusiastic on their bedroom. The room was very quiet throughout the whole day and night.
Breakfast and diner (half-board) are of high quality: very nice food, a lot of choice and well presented. (We did not use the afternoon buffet). Ironically, we only felt the New Year's Eve diner was of lower quality. But the other days was superb. Our standards are high: we like Austria but in other hotels, the food is regularly a concern to us. Very often, the hotels want special menus with very stylish presentation but the taste is often not convincing. At Kesselgrub, both prestation and taste were top!
The swimming area and family spa look nice (maybe a bit small) and facilities are stylish and of good quality. Only the water in the pool is a tiny bit too cold (a technical problem was told to be the cause of this).
Ski material storage on point and easily accessible from outside.

This hotel is TOP place for families with kids. It should have 5* from the reviews. Amazing swimming pool, high culinary food options and hospitality was beyond our expectations. Least but not last was super clean room and all amenities of the hotel. We will definitely come back and we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you very much to everyone in the hotel.

This hotel is newly renovated and it shows! The spa area is absolutely fabulous and the various areas of relaxing were really well done big congratulations to the architect who also designed this. From a spa design perspective it’s one of the most successful projects I have ever seen. Also big shout out to the kitchen. The food is extremely good, especially considering this is part of the price. It is not cheap, but located quite close to various skiing areas. Despite the fact that this is a children’s hotel it is also suitable just for adult only travelers. The only small remark I would have that I would’ve liked to have feather duvets and a better hairdryer. Also, the reception goes above and beyond to make your stay extra great. I was there for a birthday and they did a really good job on decorating and making us feel very special.

We just spent a week at Hotel Kesselgrub in Altenmarkt im Pongau with our two little ones (16 months and 2.5 months old), and I honestly don’t know why this hotel has only four stars—it absolutely deserves five! From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much love and thought has gone into every detail of this place. The hotel has been newly renovated, and it shows—the design is warm and welcoming, and everything is perfectly tailored to families. The kids club was beyond amazing—better equipped than our own nursery at home! Our children absolutely loved it, and the staff were incredibly friendly and caring. It made such a difference knowing they were in such good hands. One of the absolute highlights was the family-friendly sauna area downstairs. It’s everything you could wish for—relaxing, beautifully designed, and a real treat for parents who still want to enjoy a bit of wellness with their little ones around. Outside, we enjoyed sledging with the kids, which was such a fun experience, and the serene riverside walks just outside the hotel were simply breathtaking. It’s the perfect location for enjoying nature. And the food—just wow! The breakfast buffet is extensive and offers everything you could possibly want. The fact that there’s a 24/7 baby buffet is an absolute game-changer—no need to bring formula, milk, or pureed food, as it’s all provided. There’s also a light lunch option, and dinner is a delicious five-course menu that is incredibly high quality, with something for every taste. Overall, we couldn’t have had a better stay. This hotel is an absolute hidden gem for families, and we will definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of comfort, great service, and a truly family-friendly atmosphere, Hotel Kesselgrub is the place to go!

Fantastic stay at at great hotel. Had a 4 night stay in a family room and enjoyed every minute. Hotel is very children freindly, has an bathing lake, pony riding etc. In the basement there is a big area with several pools, waterslides, saunas where children are more than welcome. The adults enjoyed the spa on the top floor with two saunas, steam bath, outdoor jacuzzi and a snow room with snow and a temperature around - 10 degrees celcius. Loved to go to the snow rooms to cools down after period in the sauna. Restaurant was fantastic with very nice waiters and a varied selection of meals during our stay. Bought a 5 day pass for the lifts and enjoyed walks on the alpine tops. Will definitely return again

We stayed 4 nights (June 2021) at the Kesselgrub Hotel. This is a good family hotel in a great location. Delicious cuisine, caring owner Hannes, friendly and helpful staff (especially smiling Lenka). We also took advantage of their wellness, bike rentals and beautiful lake for swimming. Highly recommended. I hope we will also come to the hotel for the winter season.

We were there for 2 weeks in June with our two children (1 and 2 years old). We are very enthusiastic about the accommodation, staff and service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff and service are always friendly and helpful. The childcare and food were fantastic and it was an absolute paradise for the children. We highly recommend Kesselgrub and will definitely return. Thank you very much for an all-round successful holiday.
