Grätzlhotel Meidlinger Markt in Vienna

Great place to stay, cozy, very pleasant and comfortable. You have all in one place. Great transportation connection. Place is warm, with nice interior design 👌. 30m from piazza and nice cafes and restaurants. Big Interspar shopping mall is near. Gift on arrival was there and handwritten welcome massage. I will come back for sure 😀

I’ll start by saying that I booked a room and, two days before arrival, I was supposed to receive a form for additional registration. But they forgot about me 🙂

As a result, my friend and I had to wait for an hour in the cold until they finally sent the form, the safe code with the key card, and the room number.

The administration responded to calls and messages very indifferently and without much interest. When we clearly asked them to send the information by email, they kept saying that they had already done so — which was not true.

In the end, after about five calls, we managed to get the key card and enter the room.

Because of the beauty of the room and the very comfortable bathroom and bedroom, I can say that I’m not holding a grudge. However, friends, if you plan to stay at this hotel, be careful: the coat hooks in the corridor near the wardrobe can fall on your head, and in the morning it’s noisy because trash and other things are being taken out in the courtyard.

Overall, I would give it 3.5 or 4 out of 5 stars.

Excellent hotel but negligent staff

We stayed from 23 Sep till 28 Sep. It was a separate flat in a house which includes other apartments of this hotel.
Pay attention that the hotel headquarters are a ~1 hour walk from the apartment suite (20 min by subway). In case of questions or problems you should use your phone or instant messengers.

Situated
In 20 meters you can find a market, small cafes, a bakery and a "SPAR" store. A subway station is just a 5-minute walk.

Apartment
Before your arrival you will receive some instructions about how and where to get the keys. This is simple and unusual.
The interior was clean and a little bit cool; turn on the heating for the best effect.
There was a little kitchen with a kitchen stove, a kettle, a frying pan, a coffee machine with dispensers, necessary utensils, a mini-bar.
The hair dryer was not there, but once we messaged the administration, the hair dryer was delivered in 30 minutes.
We've stayed for 5 nights and the apartment was cleaned once - this is enough.

Staff
When we arrived we left our baggage at the main office bacause we arrived too early. The staff were friendly. There you can drink a coffee, get a MAP and ask to order a taxi to the airport - BUT BE CAREFUL!
Two days in advance of our return flight we visited the main office, and asked to order a taxi to the airport 2 hours and 30 min before the departure flight (it's a ~25 min drive to the airport) from our apartment: the taxi had to be there at 3:30 AM. The hotel administration asked our flight details and we continued our acquaintance with Vienna.

UNEXPECTED AND UNPLEASANT SITUATION
Day of our return flight.
3:30 AM - We are waiting for a taxi near our apartment.
The taxi is not there.
3.45 AM - same thing.
4:05 AM - The taxi never arrived. We ordered a taxi ourselves using Uber. Be CAREFUL: at this time you can order the taxi only via an app.
We were distressed and outraged.
How could they be so negligent? We could be late for the flight! I didn’t even want to think about the consequences...

Summary
Everything was fine, but situation with the taxi... No comments.
It is unfortunate that the actions, or rather the inaction of one person left such an unpleasant aftertaste about the journey.

I recommend this hotel - but be wary when ordering taxis.

Beautifully styled appartments. We were very impressed with the size of the accomodation (we got 2 levels!) as well as it's location (2 mins to a u-bahn station) we also loved having our own private front door! It's very reasonably priced for what you get. We definitely will stay here again next time we're in Austria.

The bikes were gone and the WiFi wasn't working very well, but the place was incredibly good and well furnished. 10 mins from the city center with the metro. Strongly recommended

The apartment is really good, the decoration is modern, the bed is really comfortable and the facilities are really good.
There's a supermarket across the street and the metro station nearby.
The location is not the greatest, it is a bit far from city centre and the main sightseeing are in a different metro line.
There is a market in front of the apartment, but I went to Vienna in the beginning of January and everything was closed.
Grätzlhotel has new way managing their guests, there is no reception and I didn't meet anyone that works for the hotel. I contacted them by email, and they were very helpful with all of my needs.
