This is absolutely a fantastic hotel. We actually stayed here twice on a two week journey through the region, once on the way in for four days, and then later before we flew home for three more days. The hotel is clean, quiet, and elegant. Certainly a 5-star quality with a great staff, and beautiful & comfortable rooms. Mario is a very good host. The management has gone out of their way to make each room feel like a palace! Super nice spaces. The bathrooms are great with heated floors and really hot water, and the flush controls for the toilets serve as good nightlights.* The beds were very comfortable and everything is new and clean and high quality. The breakfast nook seats 16-ish people and the food was excellent. English and German menus are provided. There are abundant restaurants nearby, and a laundromat/dry cleaner next door. Proximity to the sights and main part of Vienna downtown is superb, yet the street the hotel is on is quiet and slightly off the main thoroughfare which is perfect. The best Irish pub in Vienna is just 50m away! We would CERTAINLY stay here again, and hope to do so soon! The hotel has a few “quirks” or things of note, but nothing so troublesome that you should be concerned. The immense amount of nice things here, and the fantastic staff far outshine the minor inconveniences. Okay, now for the quirks. -The elevator is very small. Presumably typical for many small buildings here. -The very comfortable rooms lack space to open bags. We traveled from overseas with 2 large luggage bags (and a medium bag too) and both the regular room and the suite lacked room to open bags up. You have to open your bag up in the main walking space on the floor (or on the bed, which I dislike doing). However, there is some closet storage to alleviate this problem somewhat. -The light switches in the rooms are odd. Switches in each room turns on everything, in all rooms. The same switch to turn off lights makes ALL the lights go off, including the bathroom (in the non suite room). You cannot isolate room lighting. I can’t recall how many times we turned off lights on someone in the bathroom accidentally. *Secondly, the suite room has a separate bathroom and its lights CANNOT be controlled at all, and they go FULL bright anytime someone goes in there. This sucks at night and blinds you (and sleepers). -Lastly, the room temperature controls are limiting. You can only control the HVAC plus/minus 3 deg C from some arbitrary temperature setpoint. We have no clue what that temperature is, but you can only set the system to go up or down these few degrees. Both our rooms were too warm (for our liking) so we had to open windows every night to sleep cooler as the AC systems are off for winter. But let me reiterate, this is a choice hotel and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back in a heartbeat!

This hotel was very comfortable, very well designed. From the bathroom shower, beds were comfortable, the space inside was very well designed with separate living room, toilet separate from shower. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Made our stay in Vienna so enjoyable. It is also very close to the town central, which made walking easy. I would definitely go back!

Perfectly located boutique hotel close to the opera house and Albertina museum

Excellent hotel. Location is wonderful - just a street away from Albertina and near everything, but still able to keep quiet (thanks in part to double glazing windows) The hotel excels particularly in service and design. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to help whenever needed. I’m particularly pleased with the design of the hotel where every detail is considered. Despite the room being not very big, it is well designed so everything works. Small details like the curtain (perfectly black out the room) to a small box covering the lights from the aircon control, show the owners spared no expenses in making this hotel a home away from home. The hotel is fairly new and with only a few rooms, there are not many reviews yet. But don’t be deterred - this is a fantastic hotel and one of the best value for money stays I’ve had in Europe.

We stayed at the Hotel Zur Wiener Staatsoper with our family of six people for 5 nights, and it was nothing short of an extraordinary stay! We've traveled extensively throughout Europe, in large resorts and also small boutique hotels, and none were as charming, well-run, meticulously clean, and attentive to guests as this hotel. Victoria, the General Manager, was a delight -- professional, kind, attentive to all details, and truly engaged all of our family members. In fact, she spent hours during our stay meeting with one of our children, who is interested in pursuing a career in the hotel industry. He was lucky to learn from the best! We had three rooms (one was upgraded to a suite), and all were lovely, with comfortable beds. They were cleaned to the highest standard, and very quiet. The hotel's location can't be beat for touring, visiting the opera, shopping, and fine dining. The other staff members were equally as enthusiastic and helpful in every way. We will certainly return to this beautiful hotel next time we visit Vienna.

Recently opened (2024), the hotel is full of charm. From the architecture to the location, there is nothing to criticize. An impeccable and very kind staff, beautifully decorated rooms—each one in a different color and dedicated to an important musician. We stayed for 3 days, and it was truly incredible. Eager to return!

A stylish well-located modern boutique hotel. The staff were friendly and particularly knowledgeable about local restaurants. Our handsomely decorated room featured sophisticated lighting, and the bathroom includes interesting electronic controls. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Highly recommend.

A chic stylish gem. Outstanding attractive young staff who were helpful, witty, and energetic. (They seemed to genuinely like their jobs). Albeit the rooms were a bit small, they were so beautifully and thoughtfully designed, it all worked perfectly. Breakfasts were great, not a fried fattening offer, but instead salmon, avocado toasts, yogurt, fresh fruit etc etc etc. I understand this is the first hotel by the Swarovski Chrystal group. Bravo! And thanks for a perfect short Holiday. Also great central location

We had a fabulous long weekend here in the Beethoven Suite! Staff service was exceptional and always friendly. Particular shout-outs to Victoria and Mario. The location is perfect. We will definitely visit Vienna again, and we'll definitely stay here when we do!

Good location, good price and very nice interior design. Would have given 5 stars had we not had a bad experience with the bellhop who put us in the wrong taxi after we paid for a limo with the hotel to take us to the airport, and after the limo driver presented himself at checkout - IN FRONT OF THE BELLHOP.

Had an outstanding time at this boutique hotel in August of 2021. The room was amazing and the hotel staff was able to get us last minute dinner reservations at choice restaurants. Fantastic service and couldn’t ask for anything more.

Best place to stay in Vienna, overlooking the Albertina and walking distance to nearly everything. The restaurant is amazing and the dedicated reading nook in the window was the perfect touch. A lot of thought went into this hotel and it shows!

In our leisure evening we had some special desserts 🥰 from @the_guesthouse_vienna and drinks 🍹. It was just a quite pleasant time with friends there, cozy and comfortable.☺️✌️✌🏽✌🏻

This is a lovely hotel and the free wine is a great touch, just thought the photo art work around the hotel was a little bit of a strange choice. Some of it was a little disturbing. Would stay there again though.

Great location. Walking distance to almost key tourist attractions. Though the rooms are slightly dated but it didnt really bother us too much as bed is rather comfortable, amneties are sufficient. Size of room is acceptable for 2.

Room 306 was a corner room and very spacias!!
I have been to this hotel several times before. Housekeeping used to be better. Still is one of the top hotels on Vienna. Staff is friendly and location is great.
30.11.2025 Jyothish
Old and tired hotel which definitely needs to be demolished and rebuilt. Cupboards in the room are falling apart. Carpets are worn and threadbare with bald patches in the carpet. Rooms are very noisy as street facing and no noise dampening curtains. No slippers provided and no drinking bottled water in the rooms provided and was told to drink tap water as it is safe! Rude staff at the front desk especially the mature looking lady not at all helpful. Bath products appalling quality for a 4 star hote. They should STOP TAKING ANY MORE BOOKINGS before the hotel is refurbished. Only plus point is the location which is central. Defintly NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL.
14.10.2025 Siddeeq
The hotel was great – the reception staff were amazing and efficient. Despite arriving at 9 a.m., our room was already ready. The bathroom was spacious, and everything went smoothly throughout our stay. The location is perfect – right in the heart of Vienna, with everything within walking distance. The only thing I’d suggest is bringing your own shampoo and body wash, as the provided 2-in-1 gel just doesn’t quite cut it.
12.10.2025 Cem
Best thing with the hotel is the location. It is clean enough but a bit outdated. The feeling is not much of a full 4star. There are limited toiletries in the room. Small mini bar with limited choice. If you have a lower floor room and looking towards the main street, mind you that there will be noise until late night. I had a window that was not closing properly so the noise was even worse. The beds are ok but not the most comfortable. I ran out of Kleenex which was not replace on the next morning, only the following day. For shorter stays and by being in the center you may want to consider. There is an ironing room and also had a shoe polishing machine on my floor, which was a nice found. There is complimentary tea and, instant coffee in the room.
